Shiny Galarian Farfetch'd is being added to Pokemon Go, which is currently hosting its Ultra Unlock events. This is being broken up into 3 different categories, each with its own legendary Pokemon to encounter. The first two introduced the world to Pokemon Go's shiny forms of Dialga and Palkia for the very first time. To the surprise of the entire community, Niantic is skipping over the Alola region and jumping right into Galar, the most recent area added to the series from Pokemon Sword and Shield. With this event, players will be able to find a handful of Galarian Pokemon. and a new set of Shiny Galarian forms.
Galarian Farfetch'd evolves into Sirfetch'd, a new Pokemon introduced in Pokemon Sword and Shield. When it was first introduced into Pokemon Go, players were curious to find out how they can evolve it. Instead of traditional methods like farming for candy or using a special evolution item, Galarian Farfetch'd evolves into Sirfetch'd by setting it as the player's buddy, and getting 10 Excellent Throws. It's a strange method but it's certainly welcomed. Now, its Shiny form is being added to the game, catching it requires a little luck.
How To Find (& Catch) Shiny Galarian Farfetch'd in Pokemon Go
Shiny Galarian Farfetch'd will be added to the game during the Pokemon Go Ultra Unlock Part 3: Sword and Shield event. This will begin on Friday, August 20th and it will remain in the game long after the event is over. Here are all the different ways players might be able to find its Shiny form.
- In The Wild: Players may stumble across a wild Galarian Farfetchd naturally. This has the chance of being Shiny.
- Raid Battles: Galarian Farfetch'd will appear in 1-star raid battles from August 20th to August 26th. It will appear Shiny during the capturing phase if players are lucky.
- Eggs: Galarian Farfetch'd will appear in 7km eggs. Make sure to stock up on Incubators before the event begins.
The main gimmick with Shiny Pokemon is how rare they are. Players who encounter them outside of Community Day or special events are considered some of the luckiest players in the world. The odds are incredibly slim, but that's what makes the hunt so special. It will remain in the game once the event is over, but the best time to capture it will be during Ultra Unlock Part 3: Sword and Shield.
