Players can find and catch Shiny Espurr in Pokémon GO, but only after the Shiny form has been made available in the popular mobile game. Fortunately for players on the hunt for a Shiny Espurr, the unique form will be made available in-game beginning Feb. 1, 2022 through the February Research Breakthrough encounters in Pokémon GO. Finding the Shiny form of Espurr is a 1/500 chance, but the February Research Breakthrough encounters will increase the amount of Espurrs that trainers can find overall.
The Pokemon GO February Research Breakthrough encounters for Espurr will last from Feb. 1, 2022 until March 1, 2022, giving players ample time to catch a Shiny Espurr long before the Pokémon has its regular find rate once more. Additionally, once Pokémon GO debuts Shiny Espurr in the February Research Breakthrough, players will be able to find and catch this variation of the Pokémon in any and all future encounters. Furthermore, once players have obtained 50 Espurr candies they can evolve their Shiny Espurr into the Shiny form of Meowstic.
Although encountering Shiny Pokémon in Pokémon GO is far more common than in the main series of Pokémon games, players do not have any additional items available that can help them increase their chances of finding a Shiny Pokémon. Instead, players will solely have to rely upon their luck to be able to find their desired Shiny Pokémon. With a 1/500 chance to find a Shiny Espurr, players shouldn't have too much trouble in finding the pink variation of the Psychic-type. Unfortunately, items like the Shiny Charm in Pokémon BDSP so players must strategically plan the best time to hunt for a Shiny Espurr in Pokémon GO.
Pokémon GO: How To Increase The Chances Of Finding Shiny Espurr
While the actual odds of finding a Shiny Espurr can't be boosted, players can take a few measures to increase their chances of encountering one in Pokémon GO by increasing the amount of Espurr they encounter. To find Shiny Espurr more easily, players need to keep an eye out for any Spotlight Hours that feature Espurr. Pokémon GO's spotlight hours do not increase the chances of finding a Shiny Espurr, or any other Shiny Pokémon, but they do improve the overall spawn rate of the Pokémon itself. It will only be a matter of time before Pokémon GO players find and catch Espurr's Shiny form.
