Players will be given a chance to get a Shiny Deino to evolve into Zweilous and Hydreigon in Pokémon GO. With every new month, Niantic will give players new events to participate in and new Pokémon to capture. One mechanic Pokémon GO handles differently than its mainline counterpart is Shiny Pokémon. In the mainline games, every Pokémon has a Shiny form for players to find. In Pokémon GO, the normal forms of Pokémon are added first, then Shiny forms are added at a later date. Typically, these forms are put in the game during a special event. Still, finding Shiny Pokémon is incredibly time-consuming and difficult due to how rare they are. Fortunately, Pokémon GO will give players four chances to get a Shiny Deino.
In December, players will be given the chance to capture many Shiny Pokémon. The December Pokémon GO Community Day will last for two days, allowing players to find the Shiny Pokémon from the previous 2021 Community Days. In addition, Shiny versions of Zekrom, Reshiram, and Kyurum have been added to the game. Players looking to get a Shiny Deino will need to complete Research Breakthroughs.
For the month of December, Deino will be offered as a reward to players who complete their Field Research Tasks and achieve a Research Breakthrough. If players open the Field tab on their menu, they can complete a daily task and collect a stamp. After completing seven Field Research Tasks, the game will reward players with a Research Breakthrough. This includes XP, items, and the chance to find a Shiny Deino. The chance is still completely luck-based, but it gives players four different chances to find and capture Shiny Deino.
Finding Shiny Deino in Pokémon GO
Players who want to catch a Shiny Deino in Pokémon GO should aim to complete at least one Field Research Task a day. These are fairly simple and consist of challenges like "Catch 5 Pokémon" or "Spin a PokéStop." Completing seven will trigger a research breakthrough and possibly reward a Shiny Deino.
If players are lucky enough to get Shiny Deino through the Research Breakthrough, they need to evolve it to get Shiny Zweilous and Shiny Hydreigon. Fortunately, players won't need an Unova Stone to evolve Deino like many of the other Unova Pokémon in the game. This is how players can obtain both of them.
- Deino Into Zweilous: Give Deino 25 candy.
- Zweilous Into Hydreigon: Give Zweilous 100 candy.
There is also a chance that Deino can appear in a 10 km egg. While it currently isn't in the rotation, it's likely trainers might have eggs from before they swapped out. These eggs can hatch a Shiny Deino or provide players with more candy.
Players can also earn more candy is by using Pokémon GO's Buddy System. Each Pokémon has a set distance they can travel. After the player has crossed it, the Pokémon will reward the player with free candy. For example, Axew requires players to walk 5 km before they can collect candy. Players can also earn free Rare Candy by completing 5-Star Raid Battles. Deino might take a while to reach its final form, but Hydreigon is an incredibly powerful Pokémon, and even better when Shiny.
