Mega Lopunny is making its introduction to Pokemon Go. This guide will show players how they can find and capture this Pokemon. Since Mega Evolutions were introduced in Pokemon Go, the developers have been slowly dropping new evolutions for players to capture. Unlike other Pokemon, defeating a Mega Evolution in a raid battle doesn't fully unlock it immediately. Rather, players are given Mega Energy so they can evolve the Pokemon to its Mega form for a limited time. Mega Lopunny is the most recent Mega Evolution to make its way into the game. This guide will show players how to find and capture this Mega Evolution.

Starting on April 4th, Mega Lopunny will begin to make its way to Pokemon Go as part of the raid battles. In order to participate, players will either need a Remote Raid Pass (the game is giving one away in the shop currently) or a regular Raid Pass. Mega Raid Battles are also amongst the most challenging to beat in Pokemon Go. From experience, it is recommended to join a battle when there are at least 5 other players in the party. Any less will make it difficult to bring it down. This guide will show players the best possible counters to bring along for this challenge.

How To Find (& Catch) Mega Lopunny in Pokemon Go

Pokemon Go Shiny Buneary and Lopunny

As mentioned, Mega Lopunny will begin appearing in Raid Battle starting on April 4th. From there, players will be able to see it randomly appear at Raid locations. Mega Lopunny itself is a Normal/Fighting-type Pokemon, meaning that bringing along a Psychic, Flying, or Fighting Pokemon with these moves will make it much easier to win. Here are some of the best counters to bring along for this battle.

  • Mewtwo with Confusion and Psystrike
  • Mega Pidgeot with Gust and Brave Bird
  • Latios with Zen Headbutt and Psychic
  • Conkeldurr with Counter and Dynamic Punch
  • Moltres with Wing Attack and Sky Attack
  • Metagross with Zen Headbutt and Psychic

Once the player defeats it, they will then need to capture a regular Lopunny. Make sure to wait until its attack animation is over before throwing the ball. Also, use a Golden Razz Berry as often as possible. Not only that, but it does have a chance to be Shiny. Shiny Lopunny has been available in the game for quite some time but it appeared in Raid Battles makes it much easier to encounter.
