Pokémon Go: GO Fest 2022 Special Research Tasks (& Rewards)

The Pokémon Go Fest 2022 event is over, but trainers can still clear their Special Research. Doing this will unlock exclusive encounters and rewards. Go Fest is an annual Pokémon Go event that takes place over the course of two days in June. During this period, Pokémon from around the world will have their habitats switched every hour. Since it's a premium event, trainers will need to purchase a ticket to participate. While the purchase window is officially closed, there is a scheduled third Go Fest day happening at the end of the Summer.

Trainers who purchased a Pokémon Go Fest Ticket should have access to the Pokémon Go Fest 2022 Special Research questline. Even after the event is over, this Special Research will remain in the game until the player has completed it. The thing that makes this research so interesting is all the different branching paths for players to choose from. Each one will provide different challenges ranging in difficulty.

The Pokémon Go Fest 2022 special research is broken up into seven different steps. Completing the first three challenges will begin to unlock branching paths. Players will be allowed to focus on battling, catching, or exploring the world around them for these challenges. The rewards will be the same regardless of the player's path. Since it's only possible to pick one of the three options, it's valuable to know the rewards beforehand.

Pokémon Go Fest 2022 Special Research Tasks (& Rewards)

Step 1/7

Send a Gift to a friend: 2x Incense.

The player will now need to choose between Catch, Battle, or Explore as a path.

The player will now be given a choice between difficulty for each path. Again, there's relaxed, standard, and master.

Use 3 berries to help catch Pokémon: 22x Poké Balls.
Take a snapshot of your buddy: 2x Incense.

Step 3/7 (Standard Catching)

Catch 10 different species of Pokémon: 2,022 Stardust.

Since it's a lot to keep track of, it ultimately depends on what the player wants to accomplish. Trainers can choose the relaxed path for easier challenges to claim the rewards faster, but the master challenges offer more to do. Although, even the master challenges aren't the most difficult the game has seen. Collecting Excellent Throws might be the most difficult quest in this line-up. Attempt these throws on large legendary Pokémon. Their hitboxes usually make it easier to land Excellent Throws more consistently.
