The North American in-person event will be on Friday, July 22 through Sunday, July 24, 2022, in Seattle Washington. Additionally, there will be a bonus event on Saturday, August 27, 2022, allowing players to enjoy Pokémon GO Fest 2022 content all through the summer months.
These types of large-scale events are important for mobile games like Pokémon GO. Last year, Pokémon GO Fest 2021 earned $2.1 million throughout the two-day event. However, the event did cause controversy among players, with participation hinged on microtransactions and many experiencing bumps caused by safety issues presented while playing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
