For many Pokémon GO fansthe Pokémon GO Fest is an annual celebration that offers them a chance to catch unique species of Pokémon. Now, some of the details regarding Pokémon GO Fest have been revealed, including this year's theme. Niantic announced the annual event will be a music festival featuring many different Pokémon, including ones that sing and use sound-based attacks. And while it hasn't been confirmed, Pokémon GO Fest 2021 will likely debut Meloetta.

According to the in-game Pokedex, Meloetta is known as the Melody Pokémon and was introduced in the Generation 5 games, Pokémon Black and White. Just like Pokémon GO Fest 2021, Meloetta's design is inspired by music. Its hair has streaks, which look like bars on sheet music, and its arms and legs are in the form of quarter notes. Several of its moves are also filled with sound-based attacks, including its exclusive move Relic Song.

While the musical connections between Pokémon GO Fest 2021 and Meloetta are obvious, the annual event also debuted various Mythical Pokémon in recent years. In 2018, Celebi made its Pokémon GO debut for those who attended. Jirachi was introduced in 2019's event, and the Fire and Psychic-type Victini was added in 2020. Niantic confirmed in a blog post that trainers will get an encounter with a Mythical Pokémon if they complete Special Research during Pokémon GO Fest 2021. Meloetta, being a Mythical Pokémon itself, would certainly fit into this category.

Will Pirouette Forme Meloetta Be Added During Pokémon GO Fest 2021?

Pokemon GO Fest 2021 Music

In Pokémon, some of the creatures have the ability to change formes. Some can alter formes using an item to hold, like Giratina and the Griseous Orb, while others need a specific location, like Rotom's Room, to change Rotom into its various forms in Pokémon Platinum. Meloetta can use the move Relic Song in battle, which will change Meloetta from its original Aria Forme to its Pirouette Forme. This new forme changes Meloetta from a Normal and Psychic-type to a Normal and Fighting-type. It also changes its design from being inspired by a singer to a dancer.

How Pokémon GO has handled various formes so far differs depending on the Pokémon. Trainers have been able to find non-Legendary Pokémon like Rotom Wash using the snapshot feature during special events like last year's Pokémon GO Fest. A Legendary Pokémon like Giratina has both its Altered and Origin Forme in Legendary Raids for a limited time. If Meloetta is included in the event, it's uncertain which forme will be available during Pokémon GO Fest 2021 (or if both of them will be).  Hopefully, Niantic will reveal more about this Pokémon GO event soon.
