Hisuian Electrode has made its Pokémon GO debut as part of a new event. Initially appearing in the recently released Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Hisuian Voltorb and Hisuian Electrode are new versions of classic Pokémon, changing the usual Electric-type Pokémon into a new Electric and Grass-type. Since the Alola region of Pokémon Sun and Moon, each new region features a handful of regional exclusive Pokémon. This trend has continued with every new region to join the series. To celebrate the release of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Hisuian Voltorb was the first Hisuian creature to join Pokémon GO.

There was an entire Special Research event dedicated to Hisuian Voltorb when it first joined the game. Since it was the first Hisuian Pokémon to join, its inclusion is a pretty big deal. Although, its evolutionary form, Hisuian Electrode, was completely absent from the game. Normally, both the pre and final evolution make their way into Pokémon GO at the same time, but Hisuian Electrode is scheduled to release at a later date.

In order to find and capture Hisuian Electrode, players will need to participate in the Poké Ball Prep Rally event. It began on February 18, 2022, at 10 am local time and runs until February 25, 2022, at 8 pm local time. It's an event that focuses heavily on Hisuian Electrode, adding it to the game for the first time. Trainers will be able to evolve their Hisuian Voltorb into Hisuian Electrode by giving it 50 Voltorb candy. Fortunately, getting 50 candy won't be too difficult.

Fortunately, Hisuian Voltorb and Kantonian Voltorb candy are the same, so trainers can use older Voltorb candy to power up this Pokémon. The Poké Ball Prep Rally event will also increase the spawn rate of Voltorb, Hisuian Voltorb, and Electrode in Pokémon GO, making it much easier to collect candy. However, players should still make sure to use a Pinap Berry before every throw. If the capture is successful, the player will earn double the candy. Alternatively, trainers can also set Voltorb as their buddy.

After a few kilometers, the buddy Voltorb will return with a candy. It might take a while for Voltorb to accumulate enough candy to evolve, but combining all of these methods will make the process much faster. Hisuian Electrode in Pokémon GO will be harder to find once the Poké Ball Prep Rally is over. It's scheduled to conclude at the same time as the upcoming Pokémon GO Johto Tour. That will arguably be the biggest Pokémon GO event of the year as trainers are given the chance to find 100 classic Johto Pokémon.
