Niantic has revealed the May 2022 schedule for Pokémon GO and players will have a ton of new events to participate in. Pokémon GO is in the final stretch of the "Seasons of Alola" which has taken over the game since March. As the Alolan event winds down, players will get a chance to catch the final Sun and Moon Island Guardian Tapu Fini, who will be released as a 5-star raid boss. The rest of the month celebrates Generation Seven one final time, with an Alolan Geodude Community Day, as well as a Pikipek Spotlight hour.

Pokémon GO will also get its first Mega Legendary Pokémon with the debut of Mega Latios and Mega Latias during the Pokémon Air Adventures May event. The Hoenn Legendaries Mega formes were released on the heels of the massive Mega Evolution Update which overhauled the Kalos mechanic dramatically. Players wanting to try the new version of Mega Pokémon feature have a handful of Raids in May to test it out on, as Tapu Bulu, Tapu Lele, and Tapu Bulu will make their return one last time as 5-star boss battles.

Players will be able to scoop up any Generation Seven Pokémon they are missing during the week-long celebration, as Alolan Pokémon will appear more frequently on the map.
