Things are electrified in Pokémon GO thanks to the Crackling Voltage Event! Lasting until 11:59 p.m. local time on February 5th, Electric-type Pokémon will spawn with more frequency throughout the area, letting trainers catch more as they go about their day. On top of this are a number of event-related 7km eggs, special Field Research rewards, and unique raids, including ones focused on Tapu Koko!

While there are many attractive parts of this event, the main attraction is definitely Tapu Koko and its shiny variant. Both will be Five-Star Raid bosses, although players will have to act fast, as these will stop appearing at 10:00 a.m. on February 1st. Registeel and Shiny Registeel will then take the Five-Star slot for the rest of the event. The same is true for the Mega Raid bosses, with Aerodactyl replacing Gengar. There are other special Raid bosses, check the table below for details.

Wild Encounters are the main way trainers catch Pokémon while traveling around, and a number of them will have an increased spawn rate during the event. In addition, the event is offering special rewards for completing Field Research, minor tasks that trainers obtain when they visit a Poké Stop and spin it for rewards. Every Field Research completed in Pokémon GO during the event also rewards the player with a random encounter with a handful of Pokémon.

Special 7 Km Eggs In Pokémon GO

Pokemon Go Shiny Galarian Stunfisk.png

Eggs are a constant in Pokémon GO. Trainers can carry them around inside their bags, and after walking a certain number of kilometers, they will hatch into specific Pokémon. The Crackling Voltage Event has brought in a special number of 7 Km Eggs. Unlike the 2 & 5 Km Eggs, which can be found at Poké Stops, 7 km Eggs are rewards from opening gifts from friends in Pokémon GO.
