In a celebration of the last two years, the upcoming Pokémon GO December Community Day will feature special event Pokémon from 2021 and 2020 including Eevee, Shinx, and Gible. This announcement comes just days before the Shinx Community Day on November 21st. This Community Day celebrates Shinx’s debut in the original Pokémon Diamond & Pearl games, whose remakes, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, have just been released. Fans will be glad to know that this Pokémon is already planned to make a return the following month.

This year marks Pokémon GO’s 5th anniversary, which means 2021 has been full of monthly community days and other special events to commemorate the occasion. This final celebration should be a fun way to take players’ minds off the disappointment they might have felt following the lackluster visual appearance of Pokémon GO’s Shadow Lugia, whose in-game look did not live up to its famous original appearance in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness.

According to the official Pokémon GO Live site, the final monthly Community Day of 2021, which actually spans two days, will feature many previously featured Pokémon from the last two years, along with storage increases and a special research story. The December Pokémon GO Community Day will take place on Saturday, December 18th, and Sunday, December 19th. Pokémon like Gible, Roselia, and Machop will appear more frequently on Saturday, while other Pokémon like Eevee, Shinx, and Duskull will appear more frequently on Sunday. This event will be the perfect opportunity for anyone who missed a previous community day to get another chance at these special Pokémon.

The December Pokémon GO Community Day also features a long list of exclusive moves and certain Pokémon that can learn them, special raids, eggs, and field research tasks that will gain mega energy towards certain mega-evolution-capable Pokémon like Gengar, Charizard, and Beedrill. Also, practically all of the Pokémon featured during this event will have a higher likelihood of being shiny Pokémon, a rare and highly sought-after alternate color from the usual designs. For many, this will be a second chance at getting lucky, and many others will simply be able to add to their previous success.

With plenty of time left until the final Pokémon GO Community Day of 2021, fans will still have a lot of other events to look forward to. There’s the Ed Sheeran performance on the 22nd, the ongoing Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl launch event, an event to close out the Season of Mischief from November 26th to 29th, and the Pokémon GO Community Day featuring Shinx on November 21st. For Pokémon GO fans, this event should be a fun way to wrap up an interesting two years.
