Shiny Zekrom, Reshiram, and Kyurem have all made their official debut in Pokémon Go. Players can now find and capture them if they wish to add it to their collection. One of the biggest differences between Pokémon Go and the mainline series is how it handles its Shiny Pokémon. These are creatures that are incredibly rare to encounter and feature unique color variants. In the mainline series, every Pokémon has a Shiny version in existence. When it comes to Pokémon Go, Shiny Pokémon are added to the game at a different time than the normal versions. For example, Zekrom, Reshiram, and Kyurem were all present during Pokémon GO Fest 2021, but it was only until now that their Shiny forms were added.

It is all part of the current Season of Heritage event happening in Pokémon Go. This event is dedicated to the upcoming Pokémon Legends Arecus title, an entry that features a new take on the series. All legendary Pokémon that appear in Pokémon Go can be found through 5-Star Raid Battles. These can occasionally appear around the map in an egg. When the egg hatches, it will reveal a Pokémon that players can work together to defeat. Up to 20 players can work together to bring it down and it will reward the winners with items and XP. Currently, Zekrom, Reshiram, and Kyurem are all part of the 5-Star Raid Battles.

To find the Shiny forms of Zekrom, Reshiram, and Kyurem, players will need to defeat them in 5-Star Pokémon Go Raid Battles. Zekrom and Reshiram will only appear from Wednesday, December 1, 2021, to Thursday, December 16, 2021.  Once December 16th comes around, the Raid Battle battle Pokémon will change into Kyurem, who will remain from Thursday, December 16, 2021, to Friday, December 31, 2021. Trainers will need to bring along the best raid counters to bring them down.

Best Raid Counters For Zekrom, Reshiram, and Kyurem in Pokémon Go

First, players will need a Raid Pass. Fortunately, players can get a free remote raid pass in Pokémon Go once per week as part of this current event. This item allows players to participate in Raid Battles from any distance. Not only that, but trainers should aim to be in groups of at least five. Since this is a 5-Star Raid Battle, having any less will make it difficult to defeat it because of how strong they are. These are the best Pokémon to bring along for each Raid Battle.

  • Zekrom: Rayquaza, Salamence, Palkia, Dragonite, Rhyperior, Mamoswine.
  • Reshiram: Dialga, Rhyperior, Garchomp, Zekrom, Palkia, Rayquaza.
  • Kyurem: Metagross, Terrakion, Lucario, Conkeldurr, Dialga, Rhyperior.

The reason to choose these Pokémon is that they have solid typing and movesets that directly counter these Pokémon, making them easier to defeat. It's important to mention that Shiny Pokémon only have a chance of appearing. It's incredibly rare, but they can spawn during the capturing phase of the Raid Battle. It's possible to earn them all before the end of December.
