Pokémon GO is releasing the massive Beyond update to the game, which introduces an increased level cap of 50 and Pokémon from the Kalos region. The game still sees a lot of success, with a lot of fans still consistently playing the game. A few weeks ago, the game even managed to break $1 billion dollars in sales, which is astonishing, even for a mobile game. Pokémon GO still reigns in the mobile gaming industry, and part of it is the constant updates Niantic releases for the game to keep its fanbase engaged.

The last major update Pokémon GO received was the connection between Pokémon GO and Pokémon HOME, which was less than a week ago. While the initial release disappointed many players, with it originally requiring players to be level 40 in order to use it, Niantic pushed an update to allow players of all levels to utilize the transporter. However, there are still complaints about the absurdly long cooldown timer to transfer Pokémon. This is due to the long amount of time it takes to recharge energy and the amount of energy needed to transfer Pokémon. Despite this, Niantic pushes yet another update for Pokémon GO.

Niantic announced the game was releasing Kalos region Pokémon. What makes this region so special was that it was the first area to discover Mega Evolution. Players could expect to see the update by December 2, 2020, which introduces a large list of Pokémon. During the first week of the update, Pokémon from the Kalos region will appear more frequently as well, to ensure players have a chance at getting the new Pokemon without a long grind. This update introduces Pokémon that fans have wanted for a long time, such as Greninja and Talonflame. There is also Klefki, but this Pokémon will only appear in France. Players could also expect a mysterious Raid Egg event, which asks players to help hatch the egg.

There was also another announcement from Niantic for an increased level cap, going from a max level of 40 to 50. There will also be a special title called "Legacy Trainers", which will give trainers who hit level 40 before the end of this year special rewards. This includes a special Legacy 40 medal and a Gyrados avatar hat. If players want to push to hit level 40 before then, on November 30, 2020, XP gain will be increased for almost everything. Additionally, there will be a double XP event that lasts from November 18, 2020, to the end of the year.  The last thing players need to keep in mind is beyond level 40, it will not only require XP to level up, but the player will need to complete additional challenges as well. For example, to hit level 41, the player will need to catch a lot of Pokémon in a single day to successfully level up.

These events are a great way to encourage old and new players alike to come back and push for the special Legacy title, like the current one that brings back Shiny Meltan until November 23rd. It may also be exciting for Pokémon fans to finally get their hands on the new Pokémon, especially Greninja and Talonflame which are some fan favorites.
