Yveltal will soon be making its Pokemon Go debut. This guide will show players the best possible Pokemon to bring along to raid battles. Pokemon Go is hosting tons of events based around Pokemon from the Kalos region for the month of May. During this event, players will be able to capture Xerneas and Yveltal, the legendary Pokemon that sit proudly on the box of Pokemon X and Y. Pokemon from the Kalos region have been slowly dropped all throughout 2021 as part of special events. Now, Niantic is finally taking the plunge and introducing the main legendaries from the region. This guide will show players the best possible raid counters to bring along against Yveltal.

For starters, Yveltal will begin to appear in the game from Tuesday, May 18, 2021, to Monday, May 31, 2021. This is directly after Xerneas has had its place in the 5-star raids for the first half of the month. 5-star raids can be challenging for lower-level players but Pokemon Go is all about community and working together. This time frame will be the very first time this evil Pokemon makes its introduction to the game. Here are some of the best Pokemon to bring along against a Yveltal raid.

The Best Yveltal Raid Counters in Pokemon Go

Yveltal is a Dark and Flying-type Pokemon, leaving it weak to a ton of different Pokemon types. Yveltal is weak to Rock, Electric, Ice, and Fairy, allowing players tons of different options for this battle. Here are some of the best raid counters to bring along for this battle.

  • Zekrom: Charge Beam and Wild Charge.
  • Mega Manectric: Charge Beam and Wild Charge.
  • Rhyperior: Smack Down and Rock Wrecker.
  • Therian Tornadus: Volt Switch and Thunderbolt
  • Rampardos: Smack Down and Rock Slide
  • Raikou: Thunder Shock and Wild Charge

Regardless of what Pokemon you bring along, try and work together with a group of at least 6 other players. Any less will make this battle much more difficult.

The best thing to do would be to jump into a Raid Battle the moment it opens up. Historically, this is when players will have an easier time finding other players to complete the raid with. Once that is done, make sure to use Golden or regular Razz berries to increase your chances of capturing it. Wait until it finishes its attack animation before throwing the Premier Ball. Every throw matters when it comes to capturing legendary Pokemon.
