Tapu Fini is making its Pokémon GO debut during the May Water Festival, and players will want to use the best counters to catch Generation 7 Legendary. Pokémon GO 's "Seasons of Alola" celebration is currently in its final stretch after launching in March. The three-month event introduced a handful of Sun and Moon Pokémon into the game, including Alola's infamous island Legendaries. Pokémon GO is finally finishing off the Guardian deities Quartet during the annual Water Festival with the release of Tapu Fini as a 5-star Raid boss.

Pokémon GO players will be able to start catching Tapu Fini starting on May 10th, as the Alolan Legendary will serve as the game's 5-star Raid up until Wednesday, May 25, 2022. Trainers who miss out on Tapu Fini during Pokémon GO's Water Festival will actually have another chance to catch it as the Generation 7 Pokémon will make its return for a Seasons of Alola Raid Finale week that runs from May 25, 2022, to Wednesday, June 1, 2022.

The Alolan Legendary can also have a boosted health of 1946 - 2041 CP if players encounter the Pokémon during Rainy or Cloudy weather. The Alolan Guardian is Water and Fairy-type, making it weak to Electric, Grass, and Poison-type moves.

Pokemon Go Best Tapu Fini Raid Counters Top Pokemon Teams

Below is a list of the best Tapu Fini Raid Counters in Pokémon GO.

  • Mega Gengar: Shadow Claw and Sludge Bomb.
  • Zekrom: Charge Beam and Wild Charge.
  • Zarude: Vine Whip and Power Whip.
  • Salazzle: Poison Jab and Sludge Wave.
  • Roserade: Poison Jab and Solar Beam.
  • Raikou: Thunder Shock and Wild Charge.
  • Magnezone: Spark and Wild Charge.

Tapu Fini should be relatively easy to bring down in Pokémon GO as long as players have Electric, Grass, and Poison-type Pokémon on their team. Because of it's Water-type, trainers who already caught Tapu Bulu in the"Spring Into Spring" event will be able to use the Generation 7 Legendary to dish out high amounts of damage to Tapu Fini. Players wanting to try out the new Mega Evolution update which was released in April can destroy the Sun and Moon Legendary by bringing a Mega Gengar to the 5-star raid fight.

Once players manage to defeat and catch Tapu Fini, Pokémon GO trainers will be able to add the Alolan Guardian to their team. Tapu Fini's Pokémon Type and access to powerful moves, make it a powerhouse in Pokémon GO's Battle League. Tapu Fini is particularly strong in the Great and Ultra League, as it counters Talonflame, Giratina, Swampert, Galarian Stunfisk, and many Dark-type Pokémon used in the PVP mode.
