Pokémon fan is letting their hamster experience the joy and wonder of traveling through Kanto in a cool maze of this Gen 1 region. Pokémon fans often love to lean back on nostalgia, by playing the classic games or recreating the world of Pokémon elsewhere. So many players reminisce about their first time stepping into the game and wonder what it would be like to experience that feeling all over again.

Beyond just dusting off their old Game Boys and booting up their copy of Pokémon Red or Pokémon Blue, players will also channel their creativity to relive the glory of games past. The Pokémon series has seen countless fan-made game mods, concepts, video series, art, costumes, and much more. But this may be the first time a Pokémon fan has decided to involve their pet quite like this.

YouTuber The Hamster Maze Adventure posts videos of elaborate, beautiful mazes for their hamster, but the latest one features a miniature recreation of the world from Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue. Not only does the maze have miniature versions of the houses from the different cities and towns of Kanto, it also contains cards with pictures of Pokémon and gym leaders on them, to represent little battles the hamster must overcome. While the maze is not a perfect, to-scale recreation of the map, it features versions of famous areas in the first Pokémon games to great effect.

Locations shown in the video include the Viridian Forest, Mt. Moon, Pokémon Tower, and Silph Co., offering something for every Pokémon fan. The recreation is also impressively realistic in that, when evading the ghost Pokémon, the cards are designed so the hamster only sees the vague mist of an enemy, just like players would without the Silph Scope. The hamster also makes his use of his own specific skill set throughout his time in the Pokémon world, including ability to scratch. Luckily, the unique player comes out victorious, managing to defeat Team Rocket and solve the maze.

This is an excellent nostalgia trip by The Hamster Maze Adventure. The design of the walls and buildings are not only beautiful and detailed but also very faithful to the early Pokémon games. It's also a nice touch to include the background music from Pokémon, as well as the animated transitions when moving from one area to another. It's sure to make fans of the series, especially animal lovers, go wild.
