Pokémon with the ability Flame Body in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl can passively help players hatch eggs faster outside of battle. Additionally, every Pokémon with Flame Body in BDSP has a 30% chance to burn a physically attacking opponent. Although there are only a few Pokémon available in either Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl with the ability Flame Body, their passive egg hatching benefits are important for those looking to breed Pokémon as quickly as possible.

Another ability that helps players hatch eggs faster in Pokémon BDSP is Magma Armor, which, in battle, prevents the Pokémon from being frozen. However, although both abilities passively help players hatch eggs faster, these abilities do not stack. This means that eggs will not hatch faster with two or more Pokémon in their party with either Flame Body or Magma Armor than they would if there was just one Pokémon with either ability in the player's party.

All Pokémon With Flame Body In Shining Pearl Only

In Pokémon Shining Pearl, players can get a Pokémon with the Flame Body ability easily by finding and catching a Magby. Magby is a rare Grand Underground spawn in Pokémon Shining Pearl, and its only ability is Flame Body. Additionally, Magby's evolved forms, Magmar and Magmortar, all have the Flame Body ability as well. These three Pokémon are the only exclusive Pokémon with Flame Body in Shining Pearl.

Unfortunately, owners of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond have a harder time finding Pokémon with Flame Body because there are fewer options available.

BDSP Pokémon With Flame Body As A Hidden Ability

A few Pokémon in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have the Flame Body ability as their Hidden Ability. Hidden Abilities in Pokémon BDSP can only be found on Pokémon through special means, such as breeding a Pokémon that already has a Hidden Ability, using the Poké Radar, and using an Ability Patch.

The Ability Patch is a unique item that can only be acquired in the Battle Park within the Battle Tower's store. It's available for 200 Battle Points, and can only be used once, so it's best to use it on a Pokémon with a rarer ability than Flame Body.

Either way, once players unlock the National Dex in Pokémon BDSP, they can get two different Pokémon with the Flame Body ability and save the trouble of having to earn 200 Battle Points.

There are two Pokémon found in both Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl which gain Flame Body as a normal ability: Slugma and Magcargo. These are the only Pokémon in BDSP with Flame Body as a non-hidden ability across both versions, so if players are looking for as many Pokémon with Flame Body as possible, it would be wiser to invest in Pokémon Shining Pearl instead of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond.
