Pokémon player's fusion results combine Phanpy and Porygon2, creating an adorable and huggable companion that should be in the games. Pokémon fusion, usually done through various online fusion websites, takes two existing Pokémon species and combines them together. These combos can mesh hilarious attributes like an Onix tail to the rear of a Pikachu, or create Frankenstein-like monsters out of Gengar's mouth and Togepi's body. These mix-ups have led to plenty of Pokémon fusion fan art, and are a great way to look at favorite species from new angles.

The combinations of different Pokémon aren't seen just outside of the game series, as types of fusion have been integrated into titles like Black 2 and White 2, as well as Sword and Shield, in recent years. For example, players wanting to obtain White Kyurem or Black Kyurem must combine Kyurem with Reshiram or Zekrom, while in Sword and Shield's DLC The Crown Tundra players combine Calyrex with Glastrier or Spectrier, resulting in Ice-Rider or Shadow-Rider Calyrex. Additionally, Sun and Moon's Solgaleo and Lunala can combine with Necrozma to obtain different versions of each Legendary Pokémon.

However, Pokémon fan lumisoda on Twitter has shared a Pokémon fusion result mixing Porygon2 with Phanpy, and the combo is downright adorable. In the post, lumisoda has shared the original fusion image from the website used to combine the two Pokémon, and then their fan art recreation to the right. Phanpy's trunk has been replaced with Porygon2's beak, as well as its coloring, tail, and eyes. The transformation via fan art makes what has been dubbed "Porpy" look both huggable and completely worthy of being part of a Pokémon team.

Phanpy is a Ground-type Pokémon while Porygon2 is a Normal-type. Because of this, "Porpy" could be considered a Normal/Ground-type, giving it a unique advantage in battle if it were a canon Pokémon species. Additionally, "Porpy" could be the result of trading a regular Pokémon species with the Upgrade item that is used to evolve Porygon into Porygon2. Trading the fusion result with a Dubious Disk item, which evolved Porygon2 into Porygon-Z, could also result in an even more complex hybrid, creating a unique, futuristic Pokémon with powerful move sets.

While fan-made fusions of Pokémon species are a great way to reimagine originals from the Pokémon series, it is unfortunate these clever designs are considered for new games. Holding a design contest could be an excellent way for Game Freak to include fans in upcoming content, as well as add fresh and interesting new evolution designs or base Pokémon into upcoming titles. While it isn't likely any fan-creations like "Porpy" will be jumping out of Poké Balls in upcoming Pokémon games, it is still fun to see what adorable designs the community can come up with.
