With the new release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet coming soon, fans are sitting tight in anticipation of what the new roster of Pokémon will look like in this generation. The three starters have already been announced, but what fans want to know is if there will be any new Legendary or Mythical Pokémon.

With each generation, there have been new Legendary and Mythical Pokémon, some even creating new dual types. However, there are a few dual-types that fans have yet to see as Legendary Pokémon, and some fans are hoping to see.

Fairy-Steel

This Fairy-type was not introduced to Pokémon until Generation VI, so the type is still a bit on the newer side. Fairy-type is often seen as overpowered and it has created some incredibly strong Pokémon that are notoriously difficult to beat, especially when combined with the Steel-type.

In fact, any Fairy/Steel-type Pokémon are difficult to beat without a Ground or Fire-type since that is all that it is weak against. While Legendary Pokémon do have an array of both Fairy and Steel dual-types, there has yet to be this specific combination. This duo would make a great addition to the list of Legendaries and could be ranked as one of the strongest alongside Mew and Mewtwo.

Poison-Fairy

Pokemon Sword and Shield Galarian Wheezing

There are a handful of dual-types that are rare combinations, and one of those is the Poison/Fairy-type. Getting to see more Fairy-type Legendary Pokémon that actually look and feel like they fit in that category would be Fairy-type fan's dreams. There are a few Fairy-types already, but it is usually their other type that seems to determine what they look like and how they are portrayed.

A Poison-Fairy-type Pokémon has yet to exist outside of the Galarian Wheezing, but that Wheezing shows just how much potential there is for this dual-type. It may not be the strongest dual-type but it has enough benefits that it would make for a Legendary Pokémon worth battling.

Ghost-Poison

Ghost types aren't very prominent among the Legendary Pokémon, and there is only one that is part poison and that is Eternatus. Getting a Legendary Ghost/Poison-type would be a great addition to the other Legendary Pokémon as there are many really strong ones, like Gengar and Ghastly, that prove just how powerful that combination can be.

This Legendary Pokémon would truly only be weak against Dark and Ghost-types. Plus, fans can only imagine that this combination would lead to one of the coolest looking purple Pokémon ever.

Ghost-Dark

Pokemon Only One Weakness Ghost Dark Types

There are only two known Pokémon with this dual-type: Sableye and Spiritbomb. Before Pokémon X and Y were released, they had no known weakness, but with the release of that generation came the announcement of Fairy-types and that became their only weakness.

A Ghost/Dark-type would also add to the diversity of the Legendary Pokémon roster, as both types aren't on the list except for a few times. This combination would be almost unbeatable and could make for a great haunted-town story for fans to have to defeat in order to find it.

Poison-Dark

Galarian Moltres and Yveltal, who are the Pokémon that form the Aurar trio, are both Dark/Flying-type and the only Legendaries that are part Dark-type. Dark-type combined with Poison-type makes that Pokémon only weak to Ground-types. While Poison Pokémon may not be the strongest when it comes to attacking, they have a good defense, and their poison can immobilize their opponent.

This combined with Dark-type strong offensive moves would make for an iconic Legendary. A Poison/Dark-type is also seen as one of the best dual-type combinations in all of Pokémon, making this Legendary extra cherished, as it will have its own strengths.

Ground-Water

One of the other types that seem to be minimal among Legendary Pokémon is Ground-types. There are a few, like Landourous, Zygarde, and Groudon, but those aren't all necessarily some of the more well-known. Water-types, however, have been around since the second Legendary's made their appearance.

The combination of the two types is a perfect match, as they complement each other really well. Ground helps with Water's weakness to Electric and combined they are only weak to Grass moves. Seeing as both types can have strong defensive and offensive movies makes them great in battle as well, and an ideal candidate for a new duel-type Legendary Pokémon.

Normal-Ghost

Zoroark stands on an island during the daytime in Pokemon.

Zorua and Zoroark are the only Pokémon with the dual-type Normal/Ghost. This pairing also complements each other well since each type is immune to the other's weakness. There are three Normal-type Legendary Pokémon already: Null, Silvally, and Regigigas, and three with a Ghost-type in their dual-type.

Although two of the three Normal-type Legendary Pokémon are some of the weakest Legendaries, according to Pokémon Showdown, there is still potential. While Normal Pokémon tend to get some hate for their lack of offensive moves, the combination has the potential to be really strong, especially as a Legendary. Normal-type Pokémon have the ability to learn lots of moves that are in other types, and the moves this Pokémon could learn are exponential.

Water-Electric

This unique dual-type as a Legendary Pokémon would make it so that there are four Pokémon in total with this specific dual-type, the other three being Chinchou, Lanturn, and Wash. This rare combination would potentially make this Pokémon not only Legendary but also more enticing for fans to catch because of its rarity.

A Water/Electric-type would allow for fans to potentially catch this Pokémon in bodies of water, making islands, lakes, and larger bodies of water more important than ever in this new Generation.

Bug-Fire

There are currently no Bug-type Legendary Pokémon, so any dual-type with a Bug would be revolutionary. From Heracross to Slizzlipede, there are lots of strong Bug-types that prove having a Bug Legendary would make an incredible Pokémon.

There aren't many Bug/Fire-types at the moment, but the strongest and best Bug-type Pokémon prove that this combination would make a great Legendary. Additionally, the look of a Bug/Fire-type would be one worth waiting for, as it's bound to have a great design, on top of its powerful moves.

Bug-Steel

An assortment of Steel-type Pokemon on a light green background.

Bug Pokémon have a bad reputation of being thought of as one of the weaker Pokémon types in the franchise, but there are plenty of Bug-types that prove this to not be true. While they are known to be weak against Fire, and this combination doesn't help with that, this dual-type does make it so that Fire is its only weakness.

Not to mention, some of the best, strongest, and most iconic Bug-types are the dual-type of Bug/Steel. Truly, any Bug-type would be a great addition to the Legendary Pokémon list, but adding a Bug/Steel-type might be the best decision the franchise could make. It would be an incredibly strong Pokémon and the design would be unique and one that fans wouldn't soon forget.
