In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, players may want to find and catch Ralts, a Psychic/Fairy-type Pokémon first introduced in Generation III with two distinct evolutionary lines. Unfortunately, Ralts may be challenging to find, as, unlike most Pokémon, it cannot be found in the wild of the Sinnoh region.

Ralts can be found as one of the rare Pokémon in the Grand Underground inside the Fountainspring Cave, Dazzling Cave, and Stargleam Cavern. Additionally, players have a rare chance of encountering Ralts in a Pokémon Hideaways encounter. Kirlia, Ralts first evolution, can also be found as a very rare spawn at these locations.

To access the Grand Underground, players will first need to defeat Roark, the Oreburgh City gym leader, and enter Eterna City. Next, players will need to acquire the Explorer Kit from the Underground Man in the home to the right of the Eterna City Pokémon Center. The Explorer Kit will allow players to find the caves where Ralts can be found on their map, listed as pink Hideaways in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl.

Catching And Evolving Ralts In Pokémon BDSP

To catch Ralts, players may want to use a Quick Ball as soon as the encounter begins because Ralts may use the Psychic-type move Teleport to flee the encounter. Therefore, the Quick Ball has a higher chance of success if used at the beginning of the encounter. If the Quick Ball fails, players may want to use an Ultra Ball to try and catch the Psychic/Fairy-type as the rate of encounter is only 20-30% in the Grand Underground. If a player does not find Ralts in the Hideaways, they can simply leave and re-enter to reload the spawns.

Alternatively, players have a small chance of encountering Ralts using the Poké Radar along Route 203 and to the South of Route 204 in the tall grass. The Poké Radar can be obtained after players unlock the National Pokédex by completing the Sinnoh Pokédex and speaking with Professor Rowan in Sandgem Town in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. The Poké Radar is stored in the Key Items menu and can be used in grassy areas where wild Pokémon can be caught.

Ralts can evolve into Kirlia at level 20 and will evolve again into Gardevoir at level 30. To evolve Kirlia into Gallade instead of Gardevoir, players will need to use a Dawn Stone on a male Kirlia before it reaches level 30. There is no level requirement to use a Dawn Stone on a male Kirlia to evolve it into Gallade. Players can obtain a Dawn Stone on Route 225, inside Mt. Coronet near Route 207, and inside the Grand Underground.

Both Gardevoir and Gallade can be powerful Pokémon on a team in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. Gardevoir is a Psychic/Fairy-type while Gallade is a Psychic/Fighting type. Gallade has a higher physical attack stat while Gardevoir has a higher special attack stat, so players will want to consider their team composition before evolving.
