Trainers will need to wait until the postgame to get the Choice Band in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. As players continue through the Sinnoh region, they may occasionally come across Held Items. These are special kinds of items that permit trainers to give them to a Pokémon for special benefits. For example, Pokémon that are given the Leftovers item will heal 1/16th of their HP after every turn. There are dozens of different Held Items to discover, but only a few can really make a difference in battle.

The Choice Band is one of the best Held Items in the game when it comes to competitive battling. When this item is held by a Pokémon, it boosts the Pokémon's Attack but only allows the use of one move. For example, players can equip this on an Infernape to do Close Combat, but then Infernape cannot select another move afterward.  Infernape will be locked into choosing Close Combat. It will need to be switched out in order to select another move. The trade-off is that the Close Combat will do way more damage to opponents.

Currently, the only way for players to get the Choice Band is from the Battle Tower. This is a location in Diamond and Pearl where players can face off against challenging NPCs to be rewarded BP. To purchase a Choice Band, players need 25 BP. The Battle Tower facility can only be accessed after the player has defeated the Elite Four and has become Champion. After, head over to Snowpoint City and speak with the sailor by the docks. This is the same city where players faced off against Gym Leader Candice. Now that the trainer has become Champion, he will sail the player over to the Fight Area. Certain locations are closed off until players get the National Dex, but the Battle Tower is open upon arrival.

Winning BP In Pokémon BDSP

Pokémon BDSP: Every Battle Park Item (& Price)

There will be a shopkeeper in the Battle Park, a location connected directly to the Battle Tower in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. She will sell the player the Choice Band as well as other competitively viable Held Items. Players who can defeat 7 consecutive trainers in the Battle Tower will be rewarded 3 Battle Points. Although, they can earn 20 Battle Points upon defeating the challengers in the 21st and 49th room. Make sure to bring along the best teams for the Battle Tower to win.

The fastest way to earn BP is by throwing the 22nd battle. Doing this will cause the counter to reset, only requiring players to win another 21 battles to earn 20 BP. Aiming to continue the streak can be risky since battles become more challenging as the player progresses. Avoid aiming for the 49th trainer if the player wishes to earn BP. Earn the 25 BP and the Choice Band can be purchased. Make sure to give it to a Pokémon with a high attack stat. The Choice Band will make its moves even stronger.
