A Pokémon cosplayer has reunited Ash and Charizard with an impressively detailed look, that even ensures the Fire-type Pokémon can breathe "fire" from its red-hot mouth. The incredible cosplay was shown off during the October 2021 MCM London Comic Con, where it proved to be a hit with convention-goers. Videos from the Pokémon fan have now gone viral on TikTok, amassing millions of views due to the authenticity behind the cosplay.
Pokémon has been a popular choice for cosplayers and costumers since the franchise began in the 1990s. Both the show and the games imagine a fantastical world inhabited by hundreds of creatures with different skills and abilities, which means there's hundreds of different options to choose from when it comes to cosplaying as players' favorite pocket monsters. There's not only a multitude of colorful, powerful, and adorable creatures to cosplay as, but also plenty of human characters. Series' hero Ash Ketchum, as well as characters like Nurse Joy, Brock, Misty, and even Team Rocket have been firm favorite choices for cosplayers over the years, with Pokémon cosplay going from strength to strength.
Cosplayer and creator littlejem4 may have created one of the most impressive Pokémon cosplays of all time after choosing to recreate Generation One favorite duo, Charizard and Ash (via Dexerto). In a viral TikTok video, littlejem4 shows the process of creating the Charizard cosplay, which doesn't only include a full handmade suit, but even a glowing red mouth and the ability to breathe "fire" using a smoke machine. The user posted their creation to the social media platform where it quickly amassed thousands of comments and, at the time of writing, close to seven million views. Partnering the realistic Charizard with a detailed Ash Ketchum cosplay, the completed look could be straight from Nintendo itself, and as seen in littlejem4's tweet below, the cosplay was a resounding success at Comic Con.

The incredibly impressive Charizard Pokémon cosplay includes hidden details not seen in the viral TikTok video. According to the creator, magnets are used in the mouth to enable it to open and close, while even the barely-visible teeth (made from clay) have been spray-painted to give them extra realism. littlejem4 has released a few other TikTok videos breaking down Charizard's creation process, and has shared looks at their other outstanding cosplays on their channel.
With the viral attention littlejem4 has received for their creations, it's possible fans could be seeing even more Pokémon cosplays from them in the future. Gamers have a host of new Pokémon game releases in the coming months thanks to the launch of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl this November, as well as Pokémon Legends: Arceus out in early 2022.
