The Pokémon franchise is officially celebrating Halloween 2022 with a new lineup of spooky merchandise. Following the debut of the Gen 1 Pokémon Red and Blue RPGs in 1998, the Game Freak series became an instant worldwide phenomenon. Even from the very beginning, Nintendo has released a wide range of unique merchandise and product tie-ins to promote the mainline games and the animated show. The Pokémon Company is kicking off this year's Halloween with a new line of spooky Pokémon merchandise that is perfect for this year's Fall festivities.
Since the very first Generation, Pokémon games have featured a nod to the paranormal. In Pokémon Red and Blue, players infamously had to climb the mysterious Pokémon Tower in Lavender Town which was filled with ghosts. Gen 4's Pokémon Diamond and Pearl even featured the spooky Old Chateau, which was a mansion haunted by the spirit of a little girl and a butler. The Pokémon franchise has also become a favorite every Halloween, as kids around the world love to dress up as the series' diverse monsters.

Loungefly and Vic Lee have teamed up to create the Halloween-themed Gengar wallet and shoulder bag. The epic collaboration transforms the clothing accessories into a spooky storybook, featuring the popular Kanto Ghost Pokémon Gengar on the cover.
Fans will be able to purchase the Pokémon Scary Stories Clutch wallet for $69 at the Pokémon Center store. Those looking to have a matching set can pick up the Shoulder Bag version for the same price. While they share a similar design, the shoulder bag features an incredible painting of Sun and Moon's Mimikyu on the inside.
Halloween Ghost Pokémon Sweaters
Players looking for cozy holiday wear are in luck, as the Pokémon Center has launched a new line of Halloween sweaters perfect for the Fall season. While there is a variety of designs, the forest Gengar sweater is the spookiest as it features a silhouette of the Ghost type standing in front of an ominous orange woodland setting.
While not as scary, the white Gengar & Spooky Friends Sweet Temptations sweater has an intricate pattern that Pokémon fans will love. The highly detailed sweater features a variety of popular spooky Ghost-type Pokémon such as Pumpkaboo, Misdreavus, and Litwick. The new Autumn Sweaters can be picked up for $44.99 each.

Pokémon fans who like to collect plushies will not want to miss out on the Spooky Festival 2022 dolls released for a limited time this Fall. For the very first time since its debut in 2020's Pokémon Sword and Shield Crown Tundra expansion, Calyrex will be available as a holiday-themed plush alongside Kanto mascot Pikachu.
The 11-inch plushies feature both Pokémon wearing detailed spooky autumn-themed clothing. For example, Calyrex now has an orange-leaf cape and a crown with an orange jack-o-lantern pumpkin emblem on top. Both dolls can be bought on the Pokémon Center store online for $31.99.
Pikachu & Friends Halloween Pokémon TCG Playmat
The Pokémon TCG is also getting some holiday-themed products, including the Halloween Pikachu & friends playmat. The large table mat shares the same artwork as the creepy orange and black forest Gengar Sweater. However, the Pokémon card playmat also features additional artwork of Pikachu and his friends standing in front of the Kanto ghost.
Although the TCG mat has a spooky vibe to it, the artwork also captures the playfulness of Halloween by featuring Diamond and Pearl Baby Pokémon' Smoochum, and Munchlax, looking for Rare Candy in the forest. The Gengar playmat is priced at $24.99, and can also be used as a desk decoration.
Ghost Pokémon Metal Signs
Ghost-type fans celebrating Halloween will be able to show off their love of Pokémon this year, with the Gengar metal signs. Designed to look like real caution signs, the clever decorations warn bystanders that Ghost-type Pokémon such as Gengar are nearby.
The metal signs have tears and bite marks on them, making them scary Halloween decorations perfect for the front yard. The black and white metal sign features a neat silhouette outline of Gengar's evolution line, Gastly, and Haunter. The signs are going for $19 on the official Pokemon Center store, and are made of 100% metal.
Spooky Halloween Festival Pokémon Plushy Keychains
Pokémon fans that want to carry around their plushies on the go are in luck, as The Pokémon Company has also continued its line of mini-plushy keychains. For Halloween, a new Spooky Festival keychain line has been released and features Pokémon wearing cute Halloween costumes. For example, Black and White Unova Pokémon Zorua is adorably dressed up as a pirate
There are four additional Pokémon keychains, including Pumpkaboo, Vulpix, Gengar, and Fennekin. The bite-sized plushies are available for $15.99 each. The Pokémon Center has other Halloween-themed products, such as beanies, shirts, and hoodies. Fans looking to celebrate Halloween with spooky Pokémon products will have until October before the store refreshes its merchandise in preparation for the Winter holiday season in December.
