An artist and YouTuber has turned Pokémon's Diglett into a muscular bodybuilder with an impressive Pokémon card sculpture. The creation brings to life one of the most popular Diglett memes, which imagines what the character might be hiding beneath the ground from which it emerges.

Diglett has become one of the most memed Pokémon in the franchise thanks to the character's simple yet unexplained design. Diglett is always depicted as popping up from the ground, with only its face and some of its body visible, similar to the moles seen in Whac-a-Mole arcade games. Ever since the pocket monster was introduced in Generation One, fans have been wondering just what Diglett might be hiding below, a query that has also extended to its evolved form, Dugtrio. While speculation is rife as to Diglett's full character design, many fans have imaged the Pokémon as a buff and toned bodybuilder in what's become one of the Pokémon series' most popular memes.

YouTuber North of the Border, known for making "tiny nerdy things," has impressed and horrified Pokémon fans with their Diglett Pokémon card sculpture, which they describe as the "Most Cursed Pokémon Sculpture Ever." The creator shows just how they brought their muscled Diglett to life, highlighting the design, sculpting, and painting processes in a new video. The completed piece features a Diglett head emerging from the classic Pokémon card, with a fully sculpted bodybuilder body below, complete with contest-ready swimwear. The video has been a hit on YouTube, amassing over 100,000 views, with hundreds of comments from amused fans.

Those interested in making their own Pokémon card art can use the video as a guide, with the creator including all the materials needed for the process in the video description. Creating a muscled Diglett isn't an easy feat though, with the artist even going so far as to add additional muscle details, shading, and even veins to make their work as realistic as possible. This isn't the first time that North of the Border has brought a Pokémon card to life with their sculpting, and more gaming-related creations from Pokémon, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and more can be found on their channel.

While buff Diglett isn't exactly part of the Nintendo canon, the meme is recognized around the world, and is almost as famous as the pocket monster itself. Sadly, it seems likely that Diglett probably doesn't hide a buff and toned human body under the ground, though thanks to fan art and sculptures, fans of the Ground-type Pokémon and its memes can at least continue to pretend.
