A Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl fan has recreated the game's Canalave City with paper. The newest Pokémon games are remakes of the 2006 original Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl games for the Nintendo DS. Both the originals and remakes are set in the Sinnoh region. Canalave City is home to the Canalave Gym with Steel-type Pokémon gym leader Byron. The player must defeat Byron in order to progress through the game's story and be the very best like no one ever was.

Canalave City also holds Sinnoh region's only library, the Canalave Library. The books located in that library contain Pokémon myths of the Sinnoh region, including one myth that was censored in the international English release of the Japanese game. The English localization of the original Pokémon Diamond and Pearl had a book that explained to players that Pokémon and humans were once considered equal. However, the original Japanese version of the game went further. The Japanese text explained that humans and Pokémon would marry each other in the past. This censorship of the suggestion of an interspecies relationship is just one of many pieces of Pokémon lore related to the Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl remakes.

Inspired by the new Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl games, Reddit user pokecreation posted photos to the Pokémon subreddit showcasing their paper model of Canalave City. This paper model of the port city is complete with not only its nine buildings but also NPC sprites scattered around the area. The paper crafter explains in the comments that it took them three to four weeks to design the city's components based on in-game models and fashion everything together. They were also kind enough to include a link to their website that contains uploaded printouts of other Pokémon cities in case another fan would like to make their own paper model.

It's been suggested that Canalave City's Canalave Library may also hold a secret reference to Hisuian Qwilfish in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The newly-released Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl has a new book that wasn't in the original Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. This book mentions a Qwilfish, which matches recent leaks about Hisuian Qwilfish appearing in Nintendo's upcoming Pokémon Legends: Arceus game. The story also mentions a place called Seaside Hollow. As this is not a location in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, it may be a location later revealed in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Pokémon fans are relying on possible allusions to the new game in Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and rumors circulating on Twitter. Fans will just have to wait until January 28th, 2022 to confirm more details about Pokémon Legends: Arceus, including new locations and cities. Once it comes out, fans like pokecreation will no doubt make paper models of the new locations.
