It's possible to Wonder Trade in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl using the Global Wonder Station, which was absent when the game was initially released. BDSP Wonder Trading allows two trainers from around the globe to trade without prior knowledge of what Pokémon they will receive. It just sends the Pokémon out into the world and returns a new one, completely blind. It's common for trainers to run into tons of Bidoof or Starly while Wonder Trading, but there are rare instances where other players are pretty generous. In the past, trainers have used Wonder Trading for rare and hard-to-catch Shiny Pokémon as part of special events or giveaways.

After making sure Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is updated to the game's latest version, head to Jubilife City to find the Global Wonder Station. It's located near the bottom of the city, and was originally locked off when the game first launched. Upon heading inside, trainers can immediately begin Wonder Trading in BDSP with other players around the world. However, there are a few customization options to help players choose where their Pokémon originates from. Just approach the receptionist to get started.

How Wonder Trade in BDSP Works

The outside of the Global Wonder Station in Pokemon BDSP

After speaking to the receptionist in the Global Wonder Station, choose the "Trade" option and select the Pokémon you wish to send off. The player will now need to choose a Geographical Point on the globe. Each globe represents a different location around the world where trades are actively happening. After selecting a location for a Wonder Trade, BDSP will begin to search for a trainer within that radius. If there are no trainers in the radius of the Geographical Point the player selected, the game will automatically move on to the next closest person.

After finding someone to trade with, BDSP's Wonder Trade process will begin. The Global Wonder Station also keeps track of the number of successful Wonder Trades the player has completed. Diving deeper into the menus will reveal the Trade Records, where trainers can see the history of all their previous transactions. Information like the traded Pokémon, original trainer name, and where they were found will be labeled. It's a small feature that can give better background information on the Wonder Trade Pokémon in BDSP.
