Different Pokémon require different items and methods to evolve in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. For example, a couple of Pokémon will only evolve once trainers find and use a Shiny Stone. Although quality of life upgrades have come to Pokémon BDSP, the remakes only include Shiny Stone locations present in the original games. Additionally, only the original Diamond and Pearl Pokémon are featured in BDSP, limiting the number of Shiny Stones that players will need to complete their National Dex in Pokémon BDSP.

The Shiny Stone was one of three evolutionary stones introduced in the original Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, alongside the Dusk and Dawn Stones. Each stone is linked to an evolution that was unavailable to Pokémon introduced in generations two and three, such as Snorunt, Togetic, and Murkrow. Thanks to staying faithful to the original games, players can obtain the Shiny Stone, and others, in Pokémon BDSP before beginning the endgame content.

Shiny Stones can evolve two Pokémon in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, namely Togetic and Roselia. Togetic evolves into Togekiss once a Shiny Stone has been used on it, while Roselia evolves into Roserade. Both Pokémon are available in each version, and thanks to the Grand Underground, players can get a Togepi in BDSP before beating the Elite Four. With any luck, players can get Togekiss and Roserade on their teams before long, thanks to the Pick Up ability of Pachirisu. Pick Up allows specific items to be discovered by a Pokémon using this ability. Trainers should have Pachirisu with the Pick Up ability in their party, and it shouldn't be holding an additional item. One of the items a Pachirisu with Pick Up can find is a Shiny Stone, although there is a tiny chance of it being found.

Every Shiny Stone Location In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

Pokémon BDSP Shiny Stone On Iron Island

The first Shiny Stone players can physically find in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl is on Iron Island. Players can access Iron Island from Canalave City, and it's also the location where they can get an egg of Riolu in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. After reaching Iron Island and entering the cave, take the right path down the stairs. Head to the elevator lift and go down to the next level of the cave, then travel down the left set of stairs. Stick to the right side of the next room and navigate to the next elevator. Head through the next entrance of the cavern, take the next elevator up, and the Shiny Stone will be located on that next floor.

The second Shiny Stone location can only be accessed after players beat the Elite Four and gain access to the Battle Frontier area. Head to Route 228, where the sand storm is in full effect, and use the faster mode of the bike in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl to go up the mudslide near the Grand Underground vents. Travel across the bike bridge, and the second Shiny Stone will be sitting on top of the hill.
