Trainers who want to find and catch Gible in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl can do so long before challenging the Elite Four. Gible is the base form of its evolution line, followed by its first evolution Gabite and final evolution Garchomp. Gible is a Dragon and Ground-type Pokémon that becomes one of the most powerful Pokémon available once it has fully evolved. While Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl remains faithful to the original versions, Pokémon Diamond & Pearl, the remakes add some quality of life improvements that help make finding and catching a Gible easier.

Before catching Gible, players will have to defeat Byron, Canalave City Gym Leader in Pokémon BDSP, and retrieve the Strength HM from an NPC on Route 209 in the Lost Tower. The HM cannot be used outside of battle until Byron has been defeated, but it's needed to get a Gible earlier in Pokémon BDSP. After defeating Byron and retrieving Strength, head to Oreburgh City to begin looking for Gible.

North of Oreburgh City is the Cycling Road, which is where Gible can be found early. However, instead of traveling up the Cycling Road, players will need to cut down the tree on the right side of the path entrance from Oreburgh City and follow that route upward. Although it isn't part of the actual Cycling Road, players can still use their bike in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl to reach the north end of the path. At the end of the track on the Eterna City side is Wayward Cave, but rather than going into the cave, players will need to find a hidden entrance under the bridge. This secret section of Wayward Cave is on the left side of the bridge, and upon entry, players will need to use Strength to move the boulder directly in front of them. Next, head left and enter the next section of the cave. Gible can be found in this section of the cave, as well as the TM26 Earthquake.

Alternatively, players can also find and catch a Gible in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl using the Grand Underground. Gible is a rare Grand Underground find in Pokémon BDSP, but it can only be found once players defeat Candice, the Gym Leader of Snowpoint City. Candice uses Ice-type Pokémon, which happen to be the worst match-up to use Gible or its evolved forms against. Gible's dual Dragon and Ground-typing means that it receives 4x the amount of damage from any Ice-type attack because both Dragon and Ground-type Pokémon have a 2x weakness to Ice-type attacks. Nonetheless, after defeating Candice, players can find Gible in Fountainspring Cave, Riverbank Cave, and Still-Water Cavern.

Gible will evolve into Gabite starting at level 24, and Gabite begins evolving into Garchomp at level 48. Gabite can also be found in these locations, but only after players receive TM99 Waterfall. Pokémon in the BDSP Grand Underground are higher-level Pokémon that know egg moves when they are caught. While this doesn't mean much for Gible or Gabite because they don't have many moves that can only be learned from being bred, players could catch either Pokémon knowing unique moves like Iron Head or Outrage and Body Slam.
