Nintendo recently revealed a bonus item for those who are early purchases of the upcoming Sinnoh remakes, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl: a Pokémon Platinum version outfit. Pokémon Platinum, Diamond and Pearl were Nintendo DS titles; but Platinum hit shelves two years after the release of Diamond & Pearl, in 2008 and 2006 respectively.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl is set to feature various elements from Platinum beyond just limited-edition clothing aesthetics. The upcoming Diamond & Pearl remakes will use the Platinum Pokédex, meaning the Pokémon available in Platinum (and missing in the original Diamond & Pearl) will appear in the soon-to-be-released Switch title. The Platinum Pokédex has 210 Pokémon, while the Diamond & Pearl Pokédex includes 151. Pokémon added to the Platinum Pokédex include Houndoom, Rotom and Giratina - to name just a few of the 59 additions.

In a recent tweet from Nintendo America (via My Nintendo News), early-purchase players will have the opportunity to obtain a bonus Pokémon Platinum version outfit for their in-game characters. The outfit appears to be free of charge, only requiring players to reach for the Mystery Game in-game function and "choosing Get via Internet." The special bonus ends on February 21, 2022, so those who want the Platinum ensemble will need to obtain it pretty quickly after the game's November 19 release.

While Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl will largely stay true to its original title, it also will include some enhancing changes. Some of the Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl's gym leaders are redesigned and uphold the remake's new art style, such as Snowpoint City gym leader Candice and Sunyshore City's gym leader Volkner. Additionally, Team Galactic commanders Mars, Jupiter and Saturn are sporting new looks in the remake, all of whom have a uniquely outer-space-themed backdrop during battles. Seeing as the graphical style is different than all of its predecessors, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl will have entirely different visuals. That said, the remake will no doubt have plenty of calls to its original.

With a fast-approaching release date, even more information about Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl will likely arise - and, potentially, even more bonus offers for early-purchasers or others. Those planning to purchase the game immediately upon release should keep their eyes and ears open leading up to November 19. In the past, the franchise hosted special events and rewards in a similar vein, featuring a variety of bonuses like Mythic Pokémon or exclusive in-game items. Perhaps more is yet to come.
