All the original Move Tutors have made a return in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. They all return with the same taught moves as they had in the original Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, allowing trainers to take full advantage of their Pokémon's movepool in the remakes.

In addition to three Move Tutors, there is also a Move Deleter in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Unlike the Move Tutors, the Move Deleter doesn't require anything in exchange for his service. Additionally, it's best that players grab the Pokémon BDSP Friendship Checker Pokétch application because, while two of the Move Tutors do not require any physical or monetary item in exchange for their services, they can only teach moves to certain Pokémon with higher friendship.

The Move Deleter in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl can be found in Canalave City, south of the Pokémon Center. In the original Diamond and Pearl, the Move Deleter was the only way that Pokémon could forget HM moves like Strength and Surf. Now that Pokémon no longer need to know these moves in order to use their benefits outside of battle, the Move Deleter has some reduced use. The main reason trainers may want to use the Move Deleter now is if they plan on using the nursery to breed Pokémon in BDSP. Pokémon can pass down certain moves to their offspring, and, if a trainer wants the newly hatched Pokémon to know a particular move, it may benefit them to use the Move Deleter's free service beforehand.

The Move Reminder teaches old and forgotten moves in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

The first Move Tutor in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl can be found in Pastoria City. In exchange for a Heart Scale, an item that can be mined for in the Grand Underground, this Move Tutor will teach any Pokémon a move that they learned at an earlier level. Additionally, this Move Tutor is how trainers can teach their evolved Pokémon moves they would have learned at an earlier level if they could have evolved sooner. For example, in order to evolve Piloswine into Mamoswine in Pokémon BDSP, the Piloswine will need to know the move Ancient Power. The in-game mechanics reveal that Piloswine would have learned Ancient Power at level 1, but, since it isn't possible to have a Piloswine at level 1, trainers will need to give this Move Tutor a Heart Scale in exchange for him teaching Piloswine Ancient Power.

The final Move Tutors in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are two unique NPCs that teach Pokémon powerful moves, but only after the Pokémon reach a higher friendship level. Grandma Wilma can be found on Route 210, and she'll teach a Dragon-type Pokémon Draco Meteor. Draco Meteor is a powerful Dragon-type Special Attack, but it lowers the user's Special Attack by two stages after a single use.

The final Move Tutor can only be found after players get the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl National Dex and gain access to the Battle Zone. From the Route 228 guardhouse, east of Route 226, players should head south to find this NPC's house next to a pond. This Move Tutor teaches the final evolved forms of every starter Pokémon their own elemental version of Hyper Beam, namely Blast Burn, Frenzy Plant, and Hydro Cannon. Like Hyper Beam, each move does 150 base damage, has five PP, and forces the using Pokémon to recharge on its next turn.
