In DC Comics, the deadly eco-terrorist of Gotham City known as Poison Ivy is an iconic Batman villain that’s been going through some powerful changes as of late, with this new cosplay bringing Ivy’s ultimate form to life in a way that’s indistinguishable from something fans could see up on the silver screen!

Recently posted on Instagram by username @graciethecosplaylass, this account is hands down one of the best cosplay content pages around, especially for fans of high-end costumed looks made even better by some stunning photography and photo edits from like-minded collaborators that help make these images pop.

Dressing in homemade outfits that look like they’ve walked right off the comic panel and into the real world, Gracie's Poison Ivy design is only one of many comic-accurate cosplay costumes she’s worn in the past, with her Starfire, Mystique, Red Sonja, Mary Jane Watson and Wonder Woman cosplays being only a few of the more recent additions to her ever-growing and highly-impressive cosplay resume.

Currently headlining her own solo series, Poison Ivy has been going through it ever since the events of Fear State, where she was at the height of her powers as Queen Ivy, only to be knocked down a few pegs when that power was taken away shortly after. Now infected by a fictional strain of the parasitic fungus known as Ophiocordyceps lamia, or just Cordyceps for short, Ivy decides she wants to take down humanity and, in the process, herself as well, by releasing the psychedelic fungus spores across the country, effectively wiping out civilization so that Mother Earth can once again reign supreme over all. A kind of mold that when used, allows Ivy to control those she dislikes by making them hallucinate until they ultimately expire in a beautifully disgusting way, it’s here where Gracie’s homemade design comes into play, as this adapted look is the last thing people see before they succumb to the Cordyceps’ trippy influence -- a omnipotent Goddess of The Green that isn’t messing around.

Immediately making a case for why this is not only a great cosplay on its own, but one of the best Poison Ivy designs ever seen in the nerd community, Gracie’s Ivy look is bursting with vibrant green hues, mini Venus flytraps, long twisty vines, patches of fungi, creeping moss, a grassy-leafed tiara fit for a Green Queen, and finally, a blood-red curly hairstyle that perfectly completes this cosplay look. Showing off her homemade outfit in four separate photos within the post, Gracie’s cosplay gets better and better with each swipe, with her caption directly explaining what Cordyceps is and why it's so dangerous.

So while Poison Ivy’s journey of reflection and destruction is still ongoing, this spot-on cosplay of her ultimate Cordyceps form is a look that needs to be used as inspiration for any DCU version of the character moving forward. Poison Ivy is deadlier than ever, and thanks to @graciethecosplaylass, she’s got a new killer cosplay design to go along with it!
