In a stunning new piece of fan art from illustrator Mindy Lee, Poison Ivy gets a fresh new redesign which emphasizes her connection to the Green even more than usual. On her Twitter account, Lee shared her take on Pamela Isley, redesigning the villain (and sometimes hero) to have a costume entirely made of leaves, branches, and other plants. The results are absolutely gorgeous, as Poison Ivy's new outfit would be welcome in current DC Comics continuity.

Poison Ivy is one of Batman's standout villains, as she's been fighting the Dark Knight for more than 40 years after initially debuting in Batman #181 by Robert Kanigher and Sheldon Moldoff. Pamela Isley has amazing control over plant life, can poison her enemies with a touch (or kiss), and can control them by unleashing pheromones. Over time, Poison Ivy's powers and connection to the Green have gotten stronger, meaning she's been able to have full control over surrounding plant life. After originally having a romantic relationship with Batman, Poison Ivy has been paired with Harley Quinn, as the two tonally different villains (and antiheros) have become one of DC Comics' best couples. Quinn recently helped Ivy become whole after she was split into two different personalities, Queen Ivy, and Ivy.

Artist Mindy Lee shared her character redesign of Poison Ivy on her Twitter account. Her take on Ivy is unique and plays to the character's personality and powers. Poison Ivy's costume is made entirely from the Green, as her dress is made of roots and plans and has numerous plant accents throughout. The details are stunning, as all of the different plants combine to make a gorgeous ensemble. Making the redesign even more striking is Poison Ivy's elegant pose. Check out the image for yourself.

Artists have made Poison Ivy's design made entirely of plants before. However, Lee's redesign successfully makes the look feel like it isn't just a random assortment of plants, vines, and roots. Instead, it uses many different details together to make one cohesive design. As a result, Poison Ivy has never looked better as her plant-like dress is showstopping.

Given the impressive detail in Mindy Lee's Poison Ivy redesign, it feels unfair to call it fan art - even if it technically is. Lee hit a home run in her redesign, and hopefully, it inspires some cosplayers to try to bring the look to life. Of course, it would also be cool to see the design in a DC Comics story one day. Regardless, Lee's Poison Ivy is jaw-droppingly designed and truly magnificent.
