General Leia has an elaborate plan to rescue Lor San Tekka from a prison and the timing of this story told in Poe Dameron #22 couldn't be more perfect from Marvel Comics.

If you haven't seen Star Wars: The Last Jedi, don't fret, for we won't spoil anything here. We will say however, that it depicts General Leia in ways you could only dream of as the legendary freedom fighter, leader, and tactician. This side of Leia is being fleshed out in the issues of Marvel's Poe Dameron comic series which - like all comics, books, and games published under the Star Wars banner since the Disney acquisiton of Lucasfilm - is entirely canon.

The stories of the Poe Dameron series take place in the lead-up to 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens and follow Black Squadron and Leia's Resistance. The most recent issues are clearly meant to lay the foundation for The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Here it's emphasized just how small the Resistance is compared to the Rebel Alliance decades earlier, a dozen pilots versus what was a thousand as an example. This is a period of time where there is some semblance of the New Republic operating while The First Order isn’t a commonly known or accepted threat, whereas with the Galactic Empire, their tyranny was felt across the galaxy. Leia says in Poe Dameron #20 (the first part of this "Legend Found" story arc) that one mistake would wipe the Resistance out and we see this come to fruition in The Last Jedi where it's all about failure and the leads making mistakes.

Lor San Tekka (played by Max von Sydow in the film) had traveled to Cato Neimoidia, a location central to the Trade Federation, and got himself caught on an out of character adventure. Using some droids and nifty tech he was able to cloak himself and enter one of the many vaults this planet is known for (its main business is security of valuable goods) not to steal, but to examine a special artifact crafted from light and dark, meant to be used by both which ties into the themes explored in The Last Jedi and Star Wars Rebels. This orb is a Kazerath device and hints at a time when the dark and light were united. True balance in The Force?
