She started out as a loser. She became an it-girl with Hanna. She was A. And then she proved her loyalty to the girls over and over, helping them win the overall game.

She was called so many things, as she went from a loser to a popular girl to Radley and beyond. But she was one of the smartest characters on the show. She knew way too much. And she was super good at her job, no matter which team she was on that day.
Underestimated Me
Similarly, she said, “You bitches underestimated me.” This is true. Everyone learned very quickly that Mona was not a loser, nor was she just an average high schooler who was interested in clothes and boys.
She knew how to hack into systems. She could track like nobody else. She listened and learned. And she helped make this show a dramatic and mysterious one!

When Mona told Spencer that the girls underestimated her, she also said that Spencer was not the only genius in the car; out of the main characters, Spencer Hastings was the studious and smart one… but Mona may have been smarter than her.

Two Personalities Ago
A quote that everyone surely remembers from this show was when Mona said, “Oh, honey, that was like two personalities ago.”
As mentioned, she had several transformations over the years, and it was amazing to hear her reference all of that!
You Guys, It’s Me
When the liars found themselves locked up in the dollhouse, they found Mona there… pretending to be Ali and saying this line: “Mona? I know it's been a while, but I haven't changed that much, have I? You guys, it's me: Alison.”
No one had any idea what was going on, but this was a truly haunting scene! Did she think she was Ali? Would they be locked in there forever? Was she that crazy? It was too good.
Is That What You Wanted To Hear?
One of the most memorable episodes showed Mona coming back as a Christmas ghost, in order to haunt Alison and teach her a lesson. At one point, Ali said, “I'm scared. Okay, is that what you wanted to hear?” Mona’s answer? “It wasn't as gratifying as I thought it was going to be.”
It was flat and dry and a little sarcastic and a whole lot of funny… just like Mona!
Unless I Start It Myself
Another one of Mona’s notable quotes was this one: “I promise to never listen to a rumor unless I start it myself.” This was a great fit within a story full of lies and gossip and secrets.
Plus, Mona surely started so many rumors, as a popular high school student, as A, as someone who wanted revenge and as someone who would have done anything to protect her loved ones.
I Would Think About Doing You
After Mona and Hanna transformed themselves, they had girls wanting to be them and guys wanting to date them. They loved themselves above all, though, and had a real bond.
In fact, Mona once took it this far, when speaking to Han: “This sounds totally gay, but if I saw you struttin' it in that dress and kickin' up those heels, I would think about doing you.” Classic!
Heels Over A Hoodie
The mix of Mona’s popularity and involvement with the A-team all came together nicely in this next quote: “Look, I'll take heels over a hoodie any day of the week. But just because I'm not A anymore doesn't mean I can't recon your asses when I need to.”
And it’s true; she could have taken anyone down at any moment, but deep down, she was there to help the girls.
Believe A Lie
And last but not least, there was the time Mona spoke these words: “If you believe a lie, it becomes the truth.”
While this seems like a powerful quote in general, it was especially wonderful on a teen drama series that was based on lies that kept friends close.
