Teen dramas tend to focus on the same things: friendship, future plans, and romance. Pretty Little Liars stands out because there's a core mystery surrounding a missing teenage girl, but the characters definitely have serious relationships throughout all seven seasons.

Fans have their favorite Pretty Little Liars couples, and some of the male characters seem like they would be better partners than others. While some are clearly kind and caring, others are actually evil and try to make the liars' lives a nightmare. Who is the most eligible man in all of Rosewood? And who should be avoided at all costs?

Noel Kahn

Noel Kahn is an A-Team member who is evil and he's constantly manipulating others.

Before the liars know that Noel has been working with A, he's still not a good potential partner, as he's conceited and thinks that the world revolves around him. The main characters' major love interests are all totally different from Noel as they're kind, compassionate, and they accept Aria, Hanna, Spencer, and Emily for who they are. Noel is a self-centered teen who is part of the popular crowd, the type who is often featured in teen shows and movies.

Wren Kingston

Spencer, Wren, and Melissa talking on Pretty Little Liars

Fans have trouble accepting that Spencer's evil twin is responsible for everything on Pretty Little Liars. It's not a very popular ending, although the pieces were put in place at the beginning of the series.

Spencer's sister Melissa is engaged to Wren Kingston at the start of the show, and it turns out that Wren has been in a relationship with Alex Drake, so he's in on the whole evil mystery. While does talk to Alex about forgetting the whole thing, he's still a horrible person as he goes along with the scheme for so long. He's not a partner that anyone wants to have as they might not get out of the relationship alive.

Archer Dunhill

Ali and Archer on Pretty Little Liars

Archer Dunhill pretends to be a doctor named Elliot Rollins and he fakes his romance with Ali. There's nothing redeemable about this character, and he puts Ali in danger at every turn.

Archer isn't much better than Noel and Wren as he's creepy, up to no good, and an abusive partner. Ali couldn't have picked a worse person to be with, as she thinks that she's safe and comfortable with him when he's trying to ruin her life. He even makes her believe that she needs to be in the hospital as she's not in her right mind, which is a lie.

Ezra Fitz

As soon as Aria and Ezra meet, Aria's life spirals and she suffers as a result.

If Ezra and Aria were the same age when they began dating, fans could see Ezra as a sweet, sensitive, intelligent writer with a creative soul. Instead, he comes off as creepy, especially since he not only dates a teenage Aria but goes out with a young Ali as well. Ezra may not be evil like the others, and he only wants the best for Aria. He would seem totally fine for Aria if he was also in high school as they bond over writing and reading. But he still makes some big mistakes and since he ignores the legal ramifications of dating Aria, he doesn't seem like a great partner to have.

Jason DiLaurentis

Aria and Jason talking on Pretty Little Liars

Jason DiLaurentis is a complex figure on Pretty Little Liars. On the one hand, he seems a bit creepy at first, as the liars aren't sure what to make of Ali's older brother. He disappears from Rosewood and seems more mysterious than a good partner should be.

Once the girls get to know him, though, it's clear that he's in the middle of tragic family drama through no fault of his own. Aria realizes that everyone was wrong about him. While Jason isn't the best choice for a romantic partner on PLL, he's got a good heart and is just waiting for someone to know the real him.

Byron Montgomery

It's true that Byron cheated on his wife Ella, and A uses this information against Aria, threatening her on numerous occasions.

Byron does realize that he made a huge mistake and while he and Ella split up, they get back together later on, and he knows that he will never tear the family apart again. Byron seems like a decent person who made a terrible choice without thinking about the consequences. Since he doesn't kill anyone or join the A-Team, and he's not involved with the show's main mystery, he definitely seems better than Noel, Wren, Archer, and Ezra.

Mike Montgomery

Mike talking on Pretty Little Liars

Aria's little brother Mike Montgomery dates Mona Vanderwaal for a time, and he seems to treat her really well. Mona might be too caught up in her own schemes for a real relationship, and she originally dates Mike so she can essentially spy on him.

Mona realizes that she likes Mike a lot, and he doesn't have any obvious red flags. He's nice to her, talks to her about her interests, and plans regular dates. He needs to find someone who is living a more regular life than Mona, as he has a lot to offer.

Lucas Gottesman

Lucas on Pretty Little Liars

Lucas falls in love with Hanna during their high school days in Rosewood, and while they never date, they do stay in touch and are still friends at the end of the series.

Of all the male characters on Pretty Little Liars, Lucas is one of the best potential love interests. He's smart, does his own thing, and isn't afraid of what other people think of him. He doesn't love high school as he feels different and like he can't fit in, but that works in his favor, as by the time he leaves high school, he's matured and grown into who he is. Anyone would be lucky to date Lucas as he's sweet and also passionate about his interests and work.

Caleb Rivers

Hanna and Caleb have a tricky relationship and they break up several times. But while it takes them a while to figure their romance out, Caleb is the second-best male love interest on PLL for a few reasons.

Caleb knows who he is and doesn't pretend otherwise. He's calm, smart, and wants to take care of Hanna and the people he cares about. Caleb shows that he can commit as he isn't scared to get serious with Hanna whenever they're together. When he falls for Spencer, he treats her well, too, and he always shows his partners a lot of respect.

Toby Cavanaugh

Toby protects Spencer on a regular basis, and while they have to work out a lot of problems, they do make it to happily ever after.

Toby is the character on PLL who has the best romantic partner potential. He's strong, steady, and stable, and everything he does is to keep people safe and happy. He's not scared of hard work, as he joins the police force, and he's compassionate about the tough situation that Spencer and her friends are in. Near the end of the show, he proves he's ready to settle down by marrying Yvonne, so he would never break up with someone over fear of commitment.
