A developer's LinkedIn page, alongside a new job posting, indicates that SIE London Studio (Blood & Truth) is currently hard at work on a PlayStation 5 exclusive that will feature an online component of some kind. The team at London Studio has always rested at the forefront of PlayStation's more niche endeavors. So if Sony does intend to place extra emphasis on multiplayer games this generation, London Studio seems a good fit for such a venture.

Since its inception in the early 2000s, SIE London Studio has been best known for developing various EyeToy experiences and the SingStar games. This very same team also introduced the world to Wonderbook - an augmented reality book that was quite unlike anything else Sony had ever produced. However, the group's last project, PlayStation VR's Blood & Truth, allowed the studio to stretch its legs and explore a gritty underworld, complete with action-packed gameplay. With such a pedigree, there's no telling where London Studio's talents will take it on PS5's hardware.

Details featured on VFX Lead David Skilton's Linkedin page (via GamingBolt) note that London Studio is presently working on an "unannounced PlayStation 5 title." As of this writing, there are no extra bits of information to glean from Skilton's profile about the unnamed project. But, a job posting via London Studio's official website may offer additional insight. The listing in question is for a Lead Online Programmer, who "will work together with multiple disciplines within [London Studio's] engine and game teams to lead the development of the online features required for [the] next big title." Thus, it would seem the company's upcoming project will provide the PS5 with either a multiplayer-centric adventure or an experience that heavily incorporates online components.

What both postings lack is a hint as to whether or not London Studio will once again helm a PlayStation VR game. It doesn't seem beyond the realm of possibility, though, since recent patents filed by Sony suggest a second PSVR device is indeed in the works. Given that Blood & Truth counts among the platform's more beloved offerings, London Studio appears the best fit for showcasing Sony's continued interest in virtual reality.

When the unannounced project will be unveiled serves as yet another mystery. Regardless, PlayStation 5 owners, and PlayStation users in general, have plenty to look forward to in the year ahead. In March, Sony plans to launch the next title from Housemarque, Returnal. The first half of the year could also culminate in the releases of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Gran Turismo 7, both of which are PS5-exclusive titles. Meanwhile, Horizon Forbidden West will land on both PS4 and PS5 sometime in 2021. The next God of War is supposedly set to arrive next year, too, though the publisher has yet to confirm whether Kratos' new adventure is coming to PS4.
