The free games available to PlayStation Plus users during the month of May could be Dark Souls Remastered and Dying Light according to leaks. Sony follows a monthly cycle of selecting two games per month to be made "free" to paying PlayStation Plus subscribers. In early April, Sony accidentally posted a YouTube video on the UK's PlayStation Access channel, showing off April's free games earlier than usual. PlayStation Plus subscribers can currently grab Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Dirt Rally 2.0. Now that April is nearly over, PlayStation 4 owners are eagerly awaiting what the next free games will be.

Sony's recent choices for free PS Plus titles have been focused on games with large amounts of content, such as Uncharted 4 in April and Shadow of the Colossus in March. Sony also recently added a "Stay at Home" section to the PlayStation Store which offers players two extra free gamesUncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey. This means that PlayStation Plus users can currently download the entire Uncharted series free of charge.

An image posted on ResetERA seems to show the upcoming free games for May 2020. A user named Adookah posted the image showing Dark Souls Remastered and Dying Light as the next free titles. This leak has yet to be confirmed, but if it is true, players can look forward to these two challenging and content-rich games coming in May. Recently released games are never selected, but these would both be plausible choices from Sony, as Dying Light was released in 2015 and Dark Souls Remastered in 2018. PlayStation Plus users will have to wait for Sony's official announcement to see if either of these titles will actually be free during May.

The unforgiving RPG Dark Souls Remastered is the first step for any gamers who have yet to enter the difficult world of FromSoftware games. Understanding FromSoftware's gameplay formula of constant death and experimentation is essential before attempting games like Bloodborne or Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Dying Light is a parkour-focused zombie survival game by developer Techland, with a sequel already announced.

Coincidentally, both of these games are centered around the undead. If the leaks prove to be true, PlayStation Plus users can expect a zombie-filled May. Again, the leaks are not proven to be true and Sony has yet to announce anything concerning the free games of May 2020. In the meantime, PS Plus subscribers can still take advantage of the April free games lineup, as well as the two other free games from the "Stay at Home" deal.
