The PlayStation Plus free games in April 2020 will be headlined by the massive addition of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End to the service, which will immediately become one of the biggest games ever added to its library. PlayStation Plus free games have been impressive as of late, with Sony wisely avoiding the kind of controversy that saw the company change which titles it offered after fans felt original plans were dramatically worse than the service had ever offered before.

Although much of the current discussion regarding Sony is centered around the upcoming PlayStation 5 - including the full PS5 specs that were impressive enough to cause industry members to praise them on Twitter - the gaming giant has quietly been making the PlayStation Plus service even better than it has been historically. In fact, this won't be the first time that PlayStation Plus free games adds an Uncharted title, as the January 2020 edition actually helped prep consumers for A Thief's End by adding Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. With Xbox Game Pass grabbing headlines for its incredible value and consumer-friendly approach, it makes sense that Sony has been pushing PlayStation Plus to be a similar service, especially since public perception of both platforms is so critical with a new console generation on the horizon.

Even with the pedigree of games being added to subscription services lately, the inclusion of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End to PlayStation Plus free games in April 2020 feels like a monumental one. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will join the oft-underrated DiRT Rally 2.0 as the headliners coming to PlayStation Plus in April, marking it as another month that PS4 users will get a AAA inclusion for free as a member of the online service. The announcement appears to have been released ahead of schedule, too, as it was revealed in a YouTube video that has since been taken down (reported on by Twitter user Nibel):

The addition of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End on PlayStation Plus free games in April 2020 will be a great chance for fans to check out one of the premier PS4 exclusives of that console's life cycle. Uncharted 4 has been praised as the best iteration of a beloved series, and has fans clamoring for more adventures from developer Naughty Dog. Currently, Naughty Dog is busy - some would say too busy - working on The Last Of Us Part 2, but the studio has a small number of ground-breaking IPs and it wouldn't be surprising to see the studio return to the world of Uncharted in the future.

For now, though, fans will be able to play through the entirety of the Uncharted series on PlayStation Plus thanks to the arrival of Uncharted 4 in PS Plus free games in April 2020. While it's a shame that DiRT Rally 2.0 is destined to be overshadowed once again, ultimately the two games coming to the service now mark one of the best additions ever, and should have fans eagerly anticipating what PlayStation Plus will look like on PS5 when that console arrives late this year.
