2023 will be another big year for PlayStation players since there are several highly-anticipated games that will be released throughout the year. After the rough time in 2022 due to the Coronavirus and other challenges, many games have had to be delayed, which has allowed 2023 to be a blockbuster year in gaming.

Although 2022 was a slower year overall, PlayStation also provided many amazing games such as Horizon Forbidden West which continued Aloy's journey, and God of War Ragnarok, which became a nominee for 2022's Game of the Year, unfortunately losing to Elden Ring and its innovative and exciting open world. Stray was an indie game that managed to capture the attention of PlayStation players and cat lovers throughout the globe, which made it one of the best games released on PlayStation in 2022. Suffice it to say 2023 will follow in 2022 footsteps and become another great year for PlayStation players.

Hogwarts Legacy Will Be Released On February 10

Hogwarts Legacy is one of the most anticipated games in 2023 due to the massive popularity of the Harry Potter book series, with many fans excitedly waiting for a chance to become a student in Hogwarts. Players will be able to customize their protagonist's appearance, gender, voice, and house, and they can also learn various spells, explore the magical castle in the 1890s and interact with new characters like Natasi Onai and Professor Eleazar Fig.

Although the game has received positive responses from many fans, there are others who are reluctant to play the new Harry Potter game due to J.K. Rowling's controversies which prompts the game developer to state in the FAQ section that the author is not directly involved in the game's story. Portkey Games does not let the ongoing drama impact the game's development and has released several new trailers and gameplay showcases, with the most recent ones highlighting the Dark Arts Arena, where players can cast unforgivable curses on their enemies.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Should Drop On March 17

With the success of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, it is not surprising that Electronic Arts are publishing a sequel that follows the journey of slightly older Cal Kestis than he was in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Respawn Entertainment dropped a gameplay trailer at the Game Awards 2022, but the biggest plot reveal for Jedi: Survivor wasn't in it, as the trailer mainly focuses on the gameplay and Cal's new abilities. Other information about Jedi: Survivor released elsewhere has revealed though, that Cal is traveling around the galaxy to reunite the Stinger Mantis crew.

The Resident Evil 4 Remake Will Be Out On March 24

Capcom has continued its trend of releasing remakes of old Resident Evil games, with the latest one being the remake of one of the most iconic horror games of all-time; Resident Evil 4. Like Resident Evil 2 Remake, this won't be a replica of the old game, instead changing the story and adding original gameplay to the Resident Evil 4 Remake by utilizing faster combat and more emphasis on trading and crafting.

Capcom has also decided to alter the character design of Ada and Ashley in the Resident Evil 4 Remake by giving the two women more appropriate outfits and removing the fan service elements from the original. Players can also finally block the infamous chainsaw attack, granting players more room to get creative at eliminating the Chainsaw Man, but it seems the enemy also has been given more depth and can react to players' actions, like cutting off an escape route.

Final Fantasy 16 Will Be Released On June 22

Square Enix never fails to arouse interest with the announcement of a new mainline title in the Final Fantasy series, and the newest game has captured PlayStation players' interest with its perfect summons change in Final Fantasy 16, introducing kaiju-style summons fights where players can control the Eikons in battles of epic proportions. The story will follow the journey of Clive Rosfield, who is trying to avenge the death of his little brother, Joshua, and in the process, he will meet loyal allies, like Jill Warrick and Torgal, and get dragged into a political struggle between kingdoms.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Should Be Released In Fall

There is not a lot of information regarding Marvel's Spider-Man 2, but numerous teasers and screenshots have revealed that the game will feature Miles Morales and Peter Parker as a Spider-Man duo, but it seems that Venom will also play a major role in the upcoming game. There's a chance that Venom will be playable in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which would provide more brutal gameplay that would contrast nicely with Spider-Man's move set. It also seems Venom will not be the only villain in the upcoming game since there are hints in the debut trailer that Kraven will make an appearance in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
