Sony announced today that their annual PlayStation Days of Play sale will take place from June 8 through 18. Not only will first-party games, the standard PS4 Pro, PlayStation VR and controllers be discounted, but there will also be an exclusive blue PlayStation 4 sold for $299.99. The limited edition console features a 1TB hard drive and a matching controller that features gold embellishments.
The biggest discounts for Days of Play come in the form of hardware discounts. The Jet Black PS4 Pro will be sold for $50 dollars off at a price of $349.99, while PlayStation VR bundles begin at $199.99. Controllers are also getting temporary price drops as all color variants of DualShock 4 controllers will cost $39.99, PlayStation Move two-packs are only $79.99, and the PlayStation VR Aim Controller will be available for $49.99.
As far as games go, the sale is highlighted by Sony's two most recent releases, as the highly acclaimed God of War can be bought for $49.99 and this year's baseball simulation, MLB The Show 18, will only cost $39.99 during this 10-day span. Three slightly older exclusives (Gran Turismo Sport, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Shadow of the Colossus) are available for only $19.99 apiece. Rounding out the sale titles are a bunch of PlayStation VR showcases. Farpoint and The Inpatient are $14.99, and the VR cover shooter Bravo Team is available at the discounted price of $29.99.
In addition to physical items, Sony will also be holding a sale on the PlayStation Store during this period (although those items haven't been listed yet). Other discounts include a year of PlayStation Plus for $49.99 (which is $10 cheaper than the regular price), and $10 off per month on the core plan of their television streaming service, PlayStation Vue.
All of these sales provide a $10 or more discount off the base prices, so they should be quite tempting for anyone that is looking to build their PlayStation library. It's hard not to recommend God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn, as they both received an incredible amount of praise upon release and Shadow of the Colossus is a remake of a true gaming classic. Those looking to become PlayStation VR owners are also getting some great deals as $199.99 is a steal for a virtual reality setup, and The Inpatient is one of the most immersive experiences available on the platform. Overall, it's a solid sale line-up, even if there's not one big shocking price drop.
