Sony is kicking off this year's PlayStation State of Play celebration with a special community event. Starting May 18, players can sign up to participate in the PlayStation Player Celebration event, which will net the community special prizes just for playing PS4 and PS5 games. In stage one of the celebration, PlayStation players will need to play a combined 2.4 million games and earn 7.2 million Trophies in order to unlock an exclusive PlayStation Network avatar and dynamic PS4 theme. There's also bonus prizes for going above and beyond those goals before stage two starts on May 25. There will be three stages of the Player Celebration event total, but that's not all to expect from Days of Play 2021.
In the midst of more free Play At Home content, PlayStation will be rolling out deals on PS4 and PS5 games for State of Play 2021. The sale won't start until May 26, but the discount prices will be available from online and in-store third party retailers until June 9 (see below for all the confirmed games). In addition to those deals, there will be another sale for digital games on the PlayStation Store in the same time frame, as well as special offers to PlayStation Plus members and PlayStation Now subscribers.
Players without PS+ will have the chance to play online multiplayer for free during Days of Play. According to the PlayStation Blog, all PS4 and PS5 games that usually require a subscription to play online will be available to everyone with a PlayStation Network account for the weekend of May 22-23. There will also be a sale on the PS Gear Store, where select products will be 20% off. PlayStation's Share of the Week series on social media will be introducing a new special theme on May 21 to celebrate Days of Play 2021.
Game Discounts Coming For Days Of Play 2021
Sony has confirmed some of the titles being put on sale at participating retailers for Days of Play 2021. There are both PS4 and PS5 games being discounted, but gamers will have to keep an eye on Days of Play website for more details on where the deals can be found. Here's all the PlayStation 4 games getting reduced prices for Days of Play 2021:

- Ghost of Tsushima
- Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales
- Predator: Hunting Grounds
- Sackboy: A Big Adventure
- The Last of Us Part II
And here's a list of confirmed PS5 titles coming included in the sale:

In addition to those explicitly listed, there will be a selection from PlayStation Hits line up for the PS4 also on sale, though no specific titles have been mentioned. A few educated guesses can be made out of The Last of Us Remastered, God of War, and Gran Turismo Sport, though, since those are the three included in the graphic on the Days of Play site. There are also no exact details on the deals coming to PSN, PS+, and PS Now, but the use of "additional deals" makes it sound like PlayStation has even more deals lined up for Days of Play 2021.
