And so, the symbols of the PlayStation have graced the skies over Sweden thanks to Sony hiring a skywriter to do so. Playstationing has posted several pictures of how they look, with one of the squares unfortunately looking a little more like the shape of Arkansas. While some of the shapes aren't perfectly formed, there's no denying that it's a cool change from standard billboards and subway ads. The symbols on PlayStation controllers have remained iconic in the world of gaming, and Sony's new techniques show just how recognizable they are around the world.
It would seem these marketing techniques are working, because the PS5 has been selling so well it's become incredibly hard to obtain. On launch day, the demand for PS5s crashed Walmart's site and is still hard to order from the site or anywhere else online. It's come to the point where scalpers are more able to reliably sell the PS5 then said retailers, even at outrageous prices. For better or worse, it does show that what Sony is doing with these unique strategies is working in selling the console as much as possible.
Thanks to all of these factors, the PlayStation 5 is becoming a global sensation. PlayStation consoles have always been a large part of culture, but never on this level. Despite the year-long pandemic, that has not stopped the PlayStation 5 from establishing a name that will be here to stay for years to come. It's likely that this won't be the last unique trick Sony has up its sleeve for promoting the PlayStation 5, which ensures that the console will be remembered for a long while.
