Custom mods and game modes have become quite popular for Among Us, and players are taking every opportunity to adapt the classic version of the popular social deduction game and capitalize on the truly horrifying idea of being trapped at work with a few killers on the loose. In the classic version, Among Us is a game of social deduction that sounds a lot like a horror movie. Crewmates try to figure out who among them is an Impostor and killer and vote them out before they can eliminate every crewmate. Impostors must blend in with the crewmates but commit acts of sabotage and kill crewmates until none are left.

Fans at Skeld.net, a private, community-built Among Us server not unlike a custom Minecraft server, have introduced a new modded game mode that brings popular Internet horror icon Slender Man to the world of Among Us. In this version of the game, one Slender Man goes against nine crewmates. If Slender Man gets close to the crewmates, like in the original Slender Man game, their vision is reduced. Crewmates still complete tasks to win the game. The Slender Man needs to kill all crewmates to win. Here's how to play the Slender Man game mode on the Skeld.net Among Us servers.

How to Play the Slender Man Mini-Game in Among Us

Among Us Faster Running

The Slender Man mini-game mod, like the Zombie Mode mod, is fanmade and maintained on Skeld.net. All players wanting to join a game in this mode will need to visit Skeld.net, download the Launcher for Windows, and install the launcher by double-clicking the downloaded file. They will need to have Among Us installed on their device and have opened the game at least once to be able to install the Launcher.

Players can launch Among Us from the Launcher, and their location will be changed from the public US servers to the skeld.net server. Once in Among Us, players can use the dropdown menu to select the Slender Man game mode. When playing with friends, all players need to launch the game via the skeld.net Launcher.

While most mods for Among Us can only be installed on PC, Skeld.net also maintains an app for Android users. Players can download the Skeld.net Server Switcher app from the Google Play Store and launch Among Us from there to play Slender Man mode. Players should note that the app is not compatible with Android 11. Unfortunately, the mod is not available for iOS or Nintendo Switch users.

Three crewmates gather in a hallway in Among Us

The private custom servers at skeld.net are fairly small, only able to support around 3,000 players at once. They can also be prone to issues, so players will need to be patient if they cannot get in right away.

When players begin a game in Slender Man mode, they will have approximately 10 seconds to run away before the player assigned the role of Slender Man is allowed to move. Slender Man starts out with a very low field of vision, but, as he gets closer to crewmates, their field of vision also starts to shrink. This can help crewmates know when he is near, but by then, it might be too late.

Slender Man can teleport to a crewmate and make his gruesome kill, which often happens in the blink of an eye. Once a crewmate has been killed, they will need to hard mute so they don't give away Slender Man's location. Unlike in the classic game of Among Us, crewmates who die have their tasks auto-finished, so ghosts will mostly need to amuse themselves by running around the map or following Slender Man.

If Slender Man kills all but one crewmate, and that crewmate completes their tasks before Slender Man finds them, the crewmates win the entire game.

The character assigned the role of Slender Man will need to announce themselves, then hard mute so they cannot hear the crewmates communicating their locations. Slender Man can still use security cameras and vents, but all Sabotages are blocked. Slender Man also tends to be slightly slower than the other crewmates, giving crewmates a bit more of an advantage to help them get away fast.
