Plane is an old-fashioned action thriller that features two well-known actors in leading roles. Directed by Jean-François Richet from a screenplay by Charles Cumming and J.P. Davis, Plane is the year’s first major action flick. Following a commercial pilot who must execute an emergency landing, only to land on an island that is less than friendly to visitors, Plane received a generally positive critical reception, and is expected to rake in a modest $7-$10 million at the box office in its opening weekend.
When it comes to releasing a decent action thriller, hiring a veteran of the genre is never a bad decision. After all, Tom Cruise is still attracting audiences with action flicks like Top Gun: Maverick and Mission: Impossible - Fallout. Plane is not without a notable action star, having cast Gerard Butler in a role that requires brute force and warmth. Butler is joined by several others, actors who round out the cast and make Plane an entertaining ride.

Brodie Terrance is a commercial airplane pilot whose flight goes down during a storm, and he works to help the passengers stay alive when they’re stranded on a remote island. Brodie Terrance is portrayed by Gerard Butler, who is best known for his roles in the action epic 300, in which he played King Leonidas, The Bounty Hunter, the romantic comedy The Ugly Truth, the action flick Olympus Has Fallen, and its sequels, London Has Fallen and the upcoming Angel Has Fallen, Gods of Egypt, and the animated film How to Train Your Dragon.
Mike Colter as Louis Gaspare
Louis Gaspare is an accused murderer who is being extradited by the FBI. Louis works with Brodie to help the passengers out safely. Louis Gaspare is portrayed by Mike Colter, who is best known for playing Luke Cage in the Netflix Marvel series of the same name — a role he also played in Jessica Jones, and the spinoff The Defenders. Colter is also well-known for his roles in The Good Fight, The Good Wife, the comedy film Girls Trip, and the supernatural drama Evil.
Tony Goldwyn as Scarsdale
Scarsdale is a former Special Forces officer who aids Brodie and Louis in the rescue mission. Scarsdale is portrayed by Tony Goldwyn, who is best known for playing Fitzgerald Grant in the popular TV drama Scandal opposite Kerry Washington. Goldwyn has also been in The Mechanic, The Last Samurai, and Ghost starring Whoopi Goldberg, Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore.

Yoson An as Dele - Dele is Brodie Torrance’s co-pilot based out of Hong Kong. Dele assists him in trying to land the plane after it’s struck by lightning. Daniella Pineda as Bonnie - Bonnie is the head flight attendant on Brodie’s flight, and a survivor of the emergency landing. Remi Adeleke as Shellback - Shellback is a mercenary who leads a rescue team for the stranded passengers on the command of Scarsdale. Shellback is portrayed by Remi Adeleke, who is best known for his roles in Transformers: The Last Knight, 6 Underground, and the Prime Video series The Terminal List.
Evan Dane Taylor as Junmar - Junmar is the head of the militia group on the island where Brodie’s plane lands. Evan Dane Taylor is best known for his stunt work throughout various movies, including the Keanu Reeves actioner John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, the HBO Max series The Flight Attendant, West Side Story, and the Marvel Netflix series Daredevil.
Claro de los Reyes as Hajan - Hajan is Junmar’s right-hand man in the militia. Claro de los Reyes is best known for Memorial Day.
Haleigh Hekking as Daniela - Daniela is Brodie's daughter. Haleigh Hekking is best known for her role in the TV series Action Royale.
Lilly Krug as Brie - Brie is a passenger and a social media influencer who tries to get photos of Mike Colter’s character. Lilly Krug is best known for Every Breath You Take and Shattered.
Kelly Gale as Katie - Katie is one of the surviving passengers on Torrance’s flight and a friend of Lilly’s. Kelly Gale is a Swedish model. Plane is her first feature film role.
Joey Slotnick as Sinclair - Sinclair is an impatient businessman and a passenger aboard Torrance’s flight. Joey Slotnick is best known for his roles in the animated series Family Guy and the TV series The Single Guy.

Paul Ben-Victor as Hampton - Hampton is the owner of the Trailblazer airline who often butts heads with Scarsdale about what the best option is to rescue the passengers from the war-torn island. Quinn McPherson as Donahue - Donahue is also a survivor of the flight’s emergency landing in Plane. Quinn McPherson is best known for his stunt work in the Disney+ series The Mandalorian, Don’t Worry Darling, and NCIS: Los Angeles.
