A popular YouTube channel has showcased what's said to be a "dimensionally accurate" dummy model of Google's upcoming Pixel Fold smartphone, revealing several of its key design elements. The concept dummy model follows the 360-degree renders of the device that surfaced online, revealing much of its design. The leaked images showed a cover screen that will allow the device to be used as a normal smartphone when folded, while unfolding the device reveals a tablet-sized inner display with chunky bezels.

The video showcasing the dummy model of the Pixel Fold was posted on the Dave2D YouTube channel, seemingly confirming most of the recent rumors about its design features. However, the video also reveals some new and critical information about the upcoming device. According to host David Lee, the model shows that the Pixel Fold will have a new hinge that could result in the interior screen having less of a crease down the center than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.

Lee also speculates that the bezels surrounding the interior display could be as wide as 5mm, likely resulting from Google's cost-cutting measures. The chunky bezels inside will also house the inner selfie camera, but the front-facing shooter on the outside will be in a punch-hole cutout on the cover screen. The model also has speaker grills at the top and bottom, suggesting that the device will come with a stereo speaker system.

Overall, each side of the dummy model measures 5.7mm in thickness, while the camera bump adds almost 3mm to the phone's girth. On the back, the Pixel Fold appears to have three lenses like the Pixel 7 Pro. But unlike the current Google flagship, the camera bump on the Fold could have rounded edges, a new design flourish for the upcoming foldable.

While the video doesn't reveal any technical specifications, an earlier leak suggested that the device will come with a 7.69-inch inner display and a 5.79-inch outer panel. The larger inner panel is said to have a resolution of 2208 x 1840 pixels. Reports also say that both displays will have a high refresh rate, although the exact number is unclear. A recent Geekbench listing suggests that Google's Tensor G2 SoC could power the Pixel Fold, while RAM, storage, and other hardware specs are a mystery for now.

What is surprising is that the Pixel Fold could be priced at a whopping $1,799, if rumors are to be believed, making it more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and other competing and upcoming foldables. But, at the very least, it seems to be confirmation that the Pixel Fold is actually in the works and could launch in 2023, despite years of rumors surrounding the device.
