Google's Pixel 7 smartphones have their fair share of bugs, but a common one involves issues connecting to Bluetooth devices. If it's a widespread issue, Google usually resolves this with an update. If not, there are a number of things users can try. In some cases, Pixel users might have trouble connecting to their car over Bluetooth, while other users might have problems getting other Bluetooth devices to connect.

To fix Pixel Bluetooth issues, Google recommends covering the basics. As a first step, turn Bluetooth off and then on again. To do this, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick Settings menu and tap the Bluetooth icon to turn it off. Wait for a few seconds, and tap to turn it back on again. Next, check that the Bluetooth device is paired and connected to the Pixel phone. To do this, open the Settings app and tap 'Bluetooth.' If the device isn't paired, tap on it from the 'Previously connected devices' menu to connect manually. The other device should be discoverable and ready to pair. On accessories like headphones, this usually involves long-pressing a button until an LED starts flashing to initiate pairing mode.

If this doesn’t work, users should restart their Pixel 7 by pressing and holding the power button and selecting ‘Restart’ from the options on the screen. Once the phone reboots, connect to the Bluetooth device to see if the problem persists. If it does, try reconnecting the Bluetooth device. Open the Bluetooth devices menu from the Settings app, tap on the gear icon next to the name of the Bluetooth device, tap ‘Forget,’ and then tap ‘Forget device’ again. Now, tap on 'Pair new device' to pair it again.

If users have trouble connecting to their car's Bluetooth, they will need to follow the same steps. First, unpair the car from the Pixel's paired devices using the method described above. Next, open the car's Bluetooth settings and unpair any phones from the vehicle. Once done, try pairing the two devices again. Depending on the car, this might need to be initiated from the car or the Pixel phone.

To do this from a Pixel 7, open the Bluetooth menu in the Settings app and tap 'Pair new device.' Select the car from the list of devices and tap on it to pair. To pair from the car, open the Bluetooth menu on the Pixel 7 and leave the screen on. From the car's screen, tap on the Pixel phone to pair it. Users might be asked to check whether the PINs displayed on the phone and car are matching. Once done, tap 'Allow access to your contacts and call history.' Finally, pair the devices by tapping 'Pair,' 'Accept' or 'Confirm.' The car should now be paired to the Pixel 7.
