Google is expected to announce more Pixel 6 details any day now, and leading up to the phone's anticipated launch, some lucky individuals now have a chance to see the phone in person. 2021's been a relatively quiet year so far for Google Pixel. It kicked off things with the budget-minded Pixel Buds A-Series, followed by the mid-tier Pixel 5a smartphone. Both gadgets were very well-received, but they also haven't generated much buzz/hype for the Pixel brand.

Thankfully, that should be changing very soon. Following repeated leaks and rumors, Google announced the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro at the beginning of August. It confirmed numerous key details for the phones in doing so, such as their flashy new design, revamped camera system, and Google Tensor silicon. Especially with the flagship Pixel 6 Pro, this could finally be the Pixel handset that brings Google into the mainstream as a competitor against Apple and Samsung.

While availability details for the Pixel 6 series still remain unknown, Google is now allowing folks to get an early look at the phones in person before they go on sale. As shared by u/ThisGuyRightHer3 and u/rami1190  in the r/GooglePixel subreddit, the Google Store in New York City now has the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro on display for anyone to see. They're locked behind glass display cases and can't be used, but even so, it offers an exciting real-world view of what Google's upcoming flagships really look like.

The Pixel 6 & 6 Pro Look Even Better Than Expected

Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro at the NYC Google Store

Let's start with the orange Pixel 6. The backside below the camera bump is much more muted in person, compared to the almost pink hue shown on the Google Store website. The same is true of the Pixel 6 Pro. Google's renders showcase the top portion as a light orange, whereas the section below the camera is a creamy yellow. The Pixel 6 Pro appears to have a much more sophisticated champagne gold aesthetic in these new photos. While looks are entirely subjective, both the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro look even better in these real-life pictures than how they're represented by Google's official renders.

For anyone interested in checking out the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro for themselves, seeing the phones should be as easy as visiting the NYC Google Store. The store's official name is 'Google Store Chelsea,' located at 76 9th Ave, New York, NY 10011 (just a couple of minutes away from Chelsea Market). It's open from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM every day, with the exception of 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM hours on Sunday. Having a firm release date for the Pixel 6 lineup would be great, but this is the next best thing until then.
