Much like with many Pixar movies, the charming story is filled with memorable characters and a talented voice cast to bring them to life. While this movie might not be as star-studded as the usual Pixar adventure and features a few names fans might not be familiar with, there are also so very notable actors audiences will recognize.

Sacha Baron Cohen - Borat

Though a very brief role, Sacha Baron Cohen steals the show when he appears in the movie as Uncle Ugo. Though a terrifying-looking creature from the deep, Ugo's eccentric and bizarre personality makes him instantly compelling and it's a shame he is not in the movie a bit more.

Though he has many great comedic performances and even a few solid dramatic roles to his credit, Cohen is best known for his daring Borat movies. The original movie was an outrageous and ground-breaking comedy and its recent sequel was praised by many as one of the best movies of last year.

Sandy Martin - It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

While most of Luca's family is not approving of his desire to explore outside their sea monster world, his grandma is an encouraging figure in his life. She takes a very laid-back approach to everything and casually talks about her own adventures in the human world.

Sandy Martin plays a very different kind of maternal figure in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. As Mac's mom, she is a gruff and completely unloving woman. She shows absolutely no interest in her son or really anyone around her which makes her one of the many memorable recurring characters on the show.

Giacomo Giannotti - Grey Anatomy

The movie opens with two fishermen heading out onto the water to fish at night. For a moment, this almost feels like Pixar going in a Jaws-like direction, with the younger fisherman expressing reservations about possible sea monsters in the area.

Though it is a small role, the young fisherman is notably played by Giacomo Giannotti. Fans of Grey's Anatomy will know Giannotti best from playing Dr. Andrew DeLuca for seven seasons. Though he wasn't as memorable as some others, many fans consider DeLuca one of the show's most underrated characters.

Francesca Fanti - American Crime Story

Another smaller role in the movie is that of Maggiore, the local police officer. She doesn't have any real impact on the story, but since the community in which the story takes place is so essential, she is just one of the important added elements.

Francesca Fanti is probably best known for her role as Franca Versace in American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace. The second season of the acclaimed anthology show focused on the true-crime story of the murder of fashion designer Gianni Versace.

Jim Gaffigan - The Jim Gaffigan Show

Though Luca certainly has loving parents, there is a sense that he gets somewhat overlooked at home. In the case of his father, it could be because he is quite absent-minded. While Luca's mother is a sea monster who takes action, Luca's father gets easily distracted and often makes the situation worse.

Jim Gaffigan is most popular thanks to his work as a stand-up comedian with countless hilarious specials to check out. However, he also brought his unique comedic style to his underrated sitcom The Jim Gaffigan Show which ran for two wonderful seasons.

Saverio Raimondo – Il Satiro Parlante

Every Pixar movie needs a villain, and while Ercole isn't the most intimidating bad guy in the studio's history, he is appropriately detestable. He parades around the town with such arrogance that he is totally unaware of how much everyone dislikes him. He acts completely selfishly yet is also quite funny in how over-the-top he is.

American audiences will likely not know the name Saverio Raimondo before seeing this movie, though his performance could earn him some new fans. Raimondo is an Italian comedian whose recent special Il Satiro Parlante earned him considerable attention.

Maya Rudolph - Bridesmaids

Luca's mother is a stern parent who is not afraid to lay down some tough rules. However, it is all done out of love, as she is just trying to ensure her beloved son is kept out of danger. Maya Rudolph does a great job of balancing the toughness and loving nature of the character.

While the movie has a lot of interesting components, at the center of it all is a very endearing story of friendship between Luca and Alberto. As the more adventurous of the two, Alberto is always pushing his friend to step outside his comfort zone yet also has his own insecurities.

Jack Dylan Grazer is a talented young actor who is building a very impressive career in recent years. Likely his biggest role to date is the scene-stealing supporting part in Shazam in which he is a part of another story of young friendship. Grazer is hilarious in the role of Freddy Freeman and is set to return for the sequel.
