There's often a great balance with Pixar when it comes to comedy, as there are jokes that younger audiences will appreciate, and then moments of comedy for the adults as well. Pixar's ability to blend them together is what sets these movies apart, with some of them being absolutely hilarious from start to finish.

Cars (2006)

Cars

Cars may not have been Pixar's best-received movie with the critics, but it certainly is one of the most popular with the general public, which is why it was turned into a trilogy. However, it is the original which stands out in terms of humor, with this entry being very funny.

Mater is a fantastic comedic sidekick throughout this one, being able to create one-liners with his over the top personality that just really works well. Meanwhile, the way the other characters try to deal with Lightning McQueen and his arrogance at the start is hilarious, with their different personalities coming out really well.

WALL-E (2008)

Making this movie funny was certainly not an easy task for Pixar due to the fact that WALL-E doesn't really have many lines. Because of that, a lot of the humor is down to physical moments, with the robot making mistakes which leads to other characters finding humor from him.

WALL-E became an incredibly loveable character with his hard work and desire to get everything perfect. Seeing the character fall in love is also a fun experience, and overall, this is just a Pixar masterpiece.

Brave (2012)

A close up of Merida talking in Brave

This isn't the stereotypical princess movie, and Brave really benefits from that fact. Smashing the barriers that are normally up in these types of stories, Brave is able to be a lot more carefree and because of that, it is also a lot funnier.

Having Merida be quite a sassy and stubborn character is very funny, and the arguments she has with her family are done humorously as well. Meanwhile, when her mother becoming a bear opens up some great physical comedy, while her three brothers are mischievous and exciting. Plus, any movie that is going to cast Billy Connolly is bound to have an amazing sense of humor.

Toy Story (1995)

Woody laughs at Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story

This is the movie that started it all for Pixar, and right out of the gate the company set the tone with emotion and comedy. The characters in this movie offer something so different, with Woody and Buzz being the perfect lead characters, and their relationship is hilarious.

Buzz during his tea party scene is one of Pixar's most memorable and meme-worthy moments. Plus, the movie has great sarcasm from Mr. Potato Head and Hamm, who really speak to the older audiences.

Finding Dory (2017)

Creating another movie within this world was always going to be a challenge for Pixar, however, Finding Dory really was a great addition. The movie has a lot of subtle winks to the audience that people will certainly appreciate, particularly with the aquarium storyline and the way the animals behave within that.

Just as in the original, Dory is very funny in this movie, and Pixar adds some great new comedic characters to the franchise too. The three sea lions outside of the aquarium are particularly funny as they battle over who will dominate the rock.

A Bug's Life (1998)

A Bugs Life

A Bug's Life is one of Pixar's most underrated movies, and it is very funny. This movie has so much going on for comedy, from the great one-liners that Hopper throws at his army to the clumsy mistakes that the circus bugs make, there's something for everyone.

Because there are so many different personalities within the lead characters it is easy for them all to mesh together well. With Flik being at the focal point, he manages to pull off his own comedic style with a brilliant awkwardness that just works for his character, which really helps this movie overall.

Toy Story 3 (2010)

Barbie whispers to Ken

The characters in this franchise are all very funny, and while the third installment is the most emotional, it is also hilarious. It takes the toys out of their natural environment and instantly brings in new characters who are all very funny, with Ken and Barbie, in particular, stealing the show.

Trixie brings a lot of fun to this movie as well, with all of Bonnie's toys being fun additions. The movie introduces Spanish Buzz, which is a hilarious change to his character, plus the scene with Mr. Potato Head as a tortilla is one of the funniest the company has ever created.

Inside Out (2015)

Sadness, Fear, Anger, Disgust, and Joy at the controls

Humor and laughter are crucial elements of Inside Out, which makes this incredibly well-written movie one of Pixar's greatest. The lead characters are all different emotions and they're played out in an over the top manner, which brings a lot of hilarious moments throughout the movie.

Seeing Anger lose his cool is always entertaining, with jokes about pizza being ruined or broccoli being disgusting connecting for younger audiences. Yet adults will certainly find humor in Sadness, her negative outlook, and dry humor, with the various emotions in each humans head playing up stereotypes really cleverly.

Monsters, Inc. (2001)

Mike and Sulley point and wave to the other monsters they work with

Monsters, Inc. is a classic Pixar movie, and the friendship between Mike and Sulley really is the driving force for this one. It brings a lot of funny moments with it, as their back and forth arguments are hilarious to watch, while the physical comedy of Mike hurting himself throughout certainly clicks with younger viewers just as it does for Boo in the movie.

The way that the different monsters interact and behave in the workplace just as humans would do is a lot of fun to see, and the movie is packed with great one-liners that really deliver. Whether its comments about not eating yellow snow or Mike's reactions to being on posters despite having his head cut off, there's plenty to enjoy in this one.

Finding Nemo (2003)

Marlin smirking at Dory in Finding Nemo

There is so much going on within Finding Nemo that makes this one of Pixar's best movies, and throughout it is packed with comedy. While this is actually one of the sadder Pixar movies, there are so many funny moments it balances out perfectly.

Whether it's having sharks put together an AA-style meeting about not eating fish, the combination of personalities within the fish tank, or the brilliance of Dory, this movie will have people laughing throughout. Ellen DeGeneres really does nail it with the comedic timing for this one, with her back and forth relationship with Marlin being so much fun to watch.
