Remy & Linguini

We kickstart the list with the friendship from the movie, Ratatouille, between the rat, Remy, and the human Linguini. They are an unlikely duo, due to their species, but that's what makes their friendship so compelling.

Even though Linguini starts out wanting to destroy Remy and get rid of him, they quickly end up bonding over the fact that Remy can save his job. They quickly realise that working together, despite the obvious differences, will benefit one another.

That is where their friendship is born. The two end up showing levels of trust that is rarely seen in other Pixar movies and they stick by each other no matter what, as true BFF's do.

Mr. Incredible & Frozone

The closest friendship in the films comes between Mr. Incredible and Frozone. While they aren't shown hanging out all the time like other examples on this list, that is just how things happen with adults. But whenever Mr. Incredible needs his pal, Frozone is there in a heartbeat, not even thinking about the potential danger, which is exactly what best friends are all about.

Joy & Sadness

Inside Out is one of Pixar's most thought-provoking movies of all time. Taking a deep dive into peoples emotions the movie did an amazing job at bringing all of them together to create a film that put audiences on a real rollercoaster of their own emotions.

The two main characters are Joy and Sadness, who are quite obviously the total opposites to each other in every way. Despite starting out by arguing and having many differences, they quickly learn to embrace the fact they're not exactly the same.

The fact that they're able to overcome their differences to become best friends is a very uplifting story. They are the perfect counterbalance to each other's flaws and know how to pick the other up when needed, making them great friends.

Spot & Arlo

The Good Dinosaur might be one of Pixar's most underrated and underappreciated movies, but that doesn't mean that there isn't a fantastic friendship within it. Arlo and Spot are the ultimate best friends in this movie, going on a terrific journey together they share a fantastic bond.

Wall-E & Eva

While Wall-E probably wants this to be a relationship rather than a friendship, they are incredibly sweet together. Even though there isn't much communication throughout this movie, Pixar does an incredible job by highlighting their friendship throughout emotion.

Wall-E does absolutely everything for Eva, doing as much as possible to rescue her and be with her. All he wants to do is spend time with her, which is incredibly cute and exactly what a friendship is all about.

Eva is equally as loving to Wall-E as well, the two of them simply enjoy being together and there is nothing wrong with that. From dancing around in the stars to frantically trying to save the planet together, this is an amazing friendship.

Dory & Marlin

Dory is the ultimate person to be best friends with. She is loyal to a fault, with do anything for you, even if she is going to forget she did it 10 seconds later. Marlin and Dory go on an incredible adventure together to rescue Nemo, and it is through that journey that their friendship begins.

They balance each other's negative qualities to perfection, with Marlin bringing the thought and seriousness, while Dory has the fun for them. They do bicker and don't always agree, but in the end of their time together there is a love for each other that can't be denied.

Carl & Russell

Russell and Carl with Dug in Up.

This is the ultimate heartwarming friendship, coming from UP, which is one of Pixar's most emotional movies in general. When we meet Carl, he is an incredibly grumpy old man (due to losing his wife), the last thing he wants is an excited young boy to deal with all the time.

However, that is exactly what he gets when Russell hangs on to his house as it takes flight early in the film. While they start off as an odd-duo, Carl quickly learns to embrace the child and it is through seeing life through his eyes that he begins to learn to be happy again.

We have three movies to really explore the friendship between Lightning McQueen and Mater, and it is one of the very best from Pixar. Lightning a total superstar when they are first brought together, while Mater is anything but a world-known race car.

However, Mater has the biggest heart (if cars have them?) out of anyone in this universe and it is through that they end up being such close pals. They both have a real zest for life and love to adventure and always stick up for one another when needed.

While Lightning can at times be a little cruel to his friend with the things he says, they always patch things up and return to being the best of friends.

Mike & Sully

"You and me together, that's how it always should be." The song that Mike and Sully sing is the perfect way to sum up their friendship, which is one of the greatest in the Pixar world. They are absolutely hilarious together and bounce off each other amazingly throughout both movies.

While Sully is the one who is famous and draws in all the screams for the factory, that doesn't mean Mike isn't important. That's why their friendship is so perfect as Sully knows how important his friend is to his success.

Even though they started out not being friends at all, as is shown in Monsters University, they quickly build a close bond. Even though they might bicker as classic friends do, they are always there to help each other deep down.

Woody & Buzz Lightyear

Toy Story Woody Buzz Pixar Disney

When it comes to Pixar's ultimate BFF's, there is no doubt that Woody and Buzz Lightyear are the prime example. The two toys have been through everything together during their journey, facing all the ups and downs that come with being a toy.

Like many Pixar friendships, Woody and Buzz originally do not like each other. Woody is incredibly jealous of Andy's new toy and does everything in his power to destroy him, yet he quickly learns that working together is the best for the group and Andy.

They then do everything together, working as the leaders of the group. It created some hugely emotional moments such as when they head to the first in Toy Story 3, or say goodbye in the fourth instalment, with this duo being one of the most iconic friendships in film.
